According to the 'Women in Politics 2017 Map' launched by Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and UN Women, India ranked 88th out of 186 countries in terms of appointment of women on ministerial posts. While, in terms of percentage of women in Parliament, India has been placed at 148th rank among 193 countries.
