Previous year questions give guidance to us and provide a base for the preparation of any competitive exam. It is always good to have an experience of how the level of exam varies from year to year. For every subject like in Quantitative Aptitude, we come to know the pattern of questions must be followed to prepare the examination.



1.   A and B together can do a piece of work in 30 days. A having worked for 16 days, B finishes the remaining work in 44 days. In how many days shall B finish the work alone?

1. 30

2. 40

3. 60

4. 70

5. 45

Sol : A+ B = 30 

A = 16

B = 16 + 28

After 16 days of work of B (16×1= 16) 16 work will be done

Remaining work = 30 - 16= 14

B = 14 / 28 =.5

B = 30 / 0.5 = 60 

2. There are total 94 people in a party consisting of male and female. Fifth part of the male and eighth part of the female are in the ratio 3 : 4. If out of all the males, 50% are married while out of the total female 25% females are married, then find the percentage of unmarried people (approx.)?

1. 61%

2. 69%

3. 67%

4. 68%

5. 70%

Let the male be x and y 



Required % of unmarried people =


3. 24 men can complete a work in 2 days less in comparison to the number of days taken by 36 women to complete the same work. if 16 men can complete a work in 4.5 days, then what % of work will remain if 5 women and 8 men work for 2 days?

1. 60

Sol : 16m x 4.5 = 24m x D, D = 3 days

24m x 3 = 36w x 5, m : w=5 : 2

Total work= 24 x 5 x 3 = 360 

2m = 5w so , 

Work done by 5w and 8m in 2 days ( 5 w + 8 m ) =( 5 × 2 + 8 × 5 ) = 100

Remaining work will be = 360 – 100 = 260 

Require percentage will be = 260/360 ×100 = 72.22%


4. A vessels contains milk and water in the ratio of 7 : 1. 1/10 th mixture is removed and 3 litres of water is added. The final ratio of milk and water is 6 : 1. find the initial quantity of the mixture

Sol : 


Milk : water = 48 : 1

1 ratio = 3 

48 ratio = 144


5. Suman spends 36% on food. Remaining ¼ on brother and 3/8 on sister. Difference of amount given to brother and sister is 1200. What is suman total saving?

1. 3600

2. 2400

3. 15000

4. 1200

5. None of these

Sol :

Let the total income of suman is 100% 

So food amount = 36%

Brother amount = 16% 

Sister amount = 24% 

According to questions , 

8% = 1200

Saving is 24% , so 24% will be equal to = 3600.
