Earth's Largest Volcanic Region Discovered in Antarctica

 

The largest volcanic region on Earth, with nearly 100 volcanoes, has been discovered two km below the surface of the vast ice sheet in West Antarctica. Researchers from the University of Edinburgh in Britain found a staggering 91 previously unknown volcanoes, adding to the 47 others.

पृथ्वी पर सबसे बड़ा ज्वालामुखी क्षेत्र, जिसमे लगभग 100 ज्वालामुखी है, पश्चिम अंटार्कटिका में विशाल बर्फ की शीट की सतह से दो किलोमीटर नीचे खोज की गई. ब्रिटेन के एडिनबर्ग विश्वविद्यालय के शोधकर्ताओं ने 91 पूर्व अज्ञात ज्वालामुखी में, 47 अन्य ज्वालामुखी को भी जोड़ा.

Former Australian Olympic track star dies aged 39 

Former Australian Olympic track cyclist, Stephen Wooldridge died. He was 39.

The former star team pursuiter, from New South Wales State, won gold for Australia in the 2004 Athens Olympics, was also a four-time world champion in the discipline and the 2002 Commonwealth Games champion.

आस्ट्रेलिया के पूर्व ओलंपिक ट्रैक साइकिलिस्ट स्टीफन वुलड्रिज का निधन हो गया। वह 39 वर्ष के थे। 

न्यू साउथ वेल्स राज्य के इस पूर्व स्टार साइकिलिस्ट ने 2004 एथेंस ओलंपिक में स्वर्ण पदक जीता और वह टीम परसुइट में चार बार के विश्व चैंपियन और 2002 के राष्ट्रमंडल चैंपियन भी रहे।

Melbourne named world's most liveable city for 7th year

Australian city Melbourne has been named the world's most liveable city for the seventh year in a row by The Economist in its Global Liveability Report. 

Melbourne is followed by Austrian city Vienna and Canadian city Vancouver.

Nepal, China sign 3 pacts to boost energy, economic ties

Nepal and China signed three pacts to further boost their ties in power and energy sectors and undertake a feasibility study to excavate natural gas and petroleum in the Himalayan country, including in the southern Terai plains.

                                     

नेपाल व चीन ने तीन समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए

नेपाल व चीन ने बिजली व ऊर्जा क्षेत्र में अपने संबंधों को और प्रगाढ़ बनाने के लिए तीन समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

इसके साथ ही दोनों देशों ने नेपाल में प्राकृतिक गैस व पेट्रोलियम के उत्खनन को लेकर व्यावहार्यता अध्ययन संबंधी समझौता भी किया है।
