Age limit | 18-27 years Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates. Upper age limit is relaxable for departmental candidates’ upto 40 years of age who have rendered 3 years of regular and continuous service. The age limit is relaxable up to age of 35 years for general candidates and up to 40 years for SC/ST in case of widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and not remarried. The age limit is relaxable for ex-servicemen as well as for candidates who were domiciled in J&K from 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989 as well as the children and dependents of victims of communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat as per the Govt instructions in this regard issued from time to time. |
NOTE:
The eligibility of the candidates in terms of age, educational qualification, caste/category etc. will be determined on the closing date. The candidate must be Graduate or equivalent from a recognized university on or before the closing date, i.e., the final result must be out on or before the closing date, i.e. 2.9.2017 (till2359 hours) and he/she must have been declared successful in it.

Examination Fee: ₹ 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only). Only male candidates belonging to General and OBC category are required to pay the fee. All SC/ST and female candidates are exempted from payment of examination fee.
Mode Of Payment: The examination fee can be paid offline or online.
Intelligence Bureau Exam Pattern :
- There are three stages that a candidate needs to qualify to get recruited as an Assistant Central Intelligence Officer with the Intelligence Bureau of India.
- The 3 stages of Exam will be as follows:
- Preliminary Exam (Tier I)
- Mains Exam (Tier II)
- Interview
- The Preliminary & Mains Exam will be written and the third stage will be the Interview.
IB Tier - I Exam Pattern :
The Tier I Stage will be a written exam of 1 hour. This exam will have four different sections consisting of 100 marks.

IB Tier - II Exam Pattern :
The Ter II exam will be of 50 marks and will consist questions from two subjects.

IB Exam Pattern for Interview.
- The Final stage i. e the Interview will consist of 100 marks.
- On the basis of their combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, the candidates will be short listed for the Interview.
Selection Of Candidate:
a) The candidate has to appear in Tier-I at one of the test centres mentioned above.
b) There will be negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer in Tier-I.
c) No marks would be awarded for an un-attempted question.
d) Only those candidates would be called for Tier-II exam who come up to a certain standard in Tier-I. For Tier-II examination, there will be a minimum cut off marks of 33%.
e) The date, time and centre of Tier-II would be intimated to the successful candidates through the application portal as well as Email ID provided at the time of online registration.
f) On the basis of their combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, the candidates would be short listed for the interview.
g) Tier-II exam and interviews would be conducted at a centre by clubbing the candidates of nearby centres. i) Based on the combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and interview, the candidates would be short listed for final selection subject to successful completion of their Character and Antecedent verification followed by medical examination.
