1.Two trains travel from Howrah city to Lucknow city at a speed of 42 and 60 km/hr. respectively. If one train takes 2 hours lesser time than the other train for the journey, then the distance between City Howrah and City Lucknow is-

Sol. 1 – Let the required distance be ‘d’ km./माना अभीष्ट दूरी ‘d’ किमी. है |
According to the question/प्रश्नानुसार,
42 × t = 60 × (t – 2)
42 t = 60 t – 120
18 t = 120
3t = 20
t = 20/3
Required distance/अभीष्ट दूरी = [20/3] × 42 = 280 km./किमी.
