Harvard honours Elton John for efforts for fighting HIV, AIDS
Harvard Foundation has honoured legendary singer Elton John with the Peter J Gomes Humanitarian Award for his contribution in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
The "Your Song" hitmaker had started Elton John AIDS Foundation in the early 90s.

हावर्ड फाउंडेशन ने एचआईवी और एड्स के खिलाफ मुहिम के लिए जाने माने गायकएल्टन जॉन को 'पीटर जे गोमेज ह्यूमैनिटेरियन अवार्ड' से सम्मानित किया। एल्टन जॉन ने 90 के दशक की शुरुआत में एड्स फाउंडेशन की शुरुआत की थी।
HDFC Bank makes RTGS, NEFT online transactions free from Nov 1
Private sector lender HDFC Bank has made online transactions through RTGS and NEFT free of cost from November 1.
On the other hand, various charges for cheque-related transactions as well as a request for additional leaves will get costly from early next month for non-managed savings and salary accounts. Earlier, customers have levied Rs 25 each for Rs 2-5 lakh online transaction via RTGS and Rs 50 each for such money transfers over Rs 5 lakh. Online NEFT transactions attracted a fee of Rs 2.5 for less than Rs 10,000, Rs 5 for Rs 10,001-1 lakh and Rs 15 for above Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.

एचडीएफसी ने आरटीजीएस, एनईएफटी से आनलाइन पैसा भेजने को नि:शुल्क किया
निजी क्षेत्र एचडीएफसी बैंक ने आरटीजीएस व एनईएफटी के जरिए किए जाने वाले लेनदेन को एक नवंबर से नि:शुल्क किया।
वहीं बैंक ने चैक के जरिए लेनदेन के लिए विभिन्न शुल्कों को अगले महीने से बढ़ाने की घोषणा की है। अभी ग्राहकों को आरटीजीएस के जरिए 2-5 लाख रुपये तक के आनलाइन लेनदेन पर 25 रुपये प्रत्येक का शुल्क देना पड़ता था। वहीं एनईएफटी के जरिए पांच लाख रुपये से अधिक धन भेजने पर 50 रुपये प्रत्येक शुल्क लागू था। आनलाइन एनईएफी पर लेनदेन पर 10,000 रुपये से कम राशि पर 2.5 रुपये, 10001 एक लाख रुपये के लिए पांच रुपये व 1-2 लाख रुपये के लिए 15 रुपये का शुल्क था।

Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia has been designated as the new Finance
Secretary. Adhia is a 1981 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre.
The vacancy was caused following the superannuation of Ashok Lavasa last month.

राजस्व सचिव हसमुख अधिया नए वित्त सचिव
राजस्व सचिव हसमुख अधिया को नया वित्त सचिव बनाया गया है। इस बारे में आधिकारिक आदेश जारी किया गया। अधिया गुजरात कैडर के 1981 बैच के भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (आईएएस) के अधिकारी हैं।
पिछले महीने अशोक लवासा के सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद यह पद रिक्त था।
