National Youth Day (Yuva Diwas or Swami Vivekananda Birthday) is celebrated by the youths at all the schools, colleges by performing the parade, speech on Swami Vivekananda, recitations, music, songs, conventions, Yogasanas, presentations, competition for essay-writing, seminar, sports and etc. Lectures and writings related to the ideas of Swami Vivekananda are also performed by the students to inspire the Indian youths.

“Choose the highest ideal and live your life up to that. Look at the “ocean” and not at the wave”.

It is one of the famous quotes of Swami Vivekananda. It clearly shows that teachings of Swami Vivekananda were very motivating for the youth. As the quote states, you must choose the highest role model in your life, you not focus on small things and should target high. When you will keep your target high, you may find it is difficult to reach that point but you will always be motivated to achieve the best.

One more quote by Swami Vivekananda is:

“Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached”.

It means that we must be awake until and unless our goal is reached, we must not stop anywhere between our ultimate target.

So, this Youth Day, fill yourselves with the spirit and youthfulness and set your target. Take a pledge that you will not stop until your aim is achieved. Do not get disheartened by the failures, try hard and reach the ultimate goal of your life.
