Even as the Centre grapples with hard questions on how to best _(1)_terror attacks in the aftermath of the Jaipur blasts, the Rajasthan government has _(2)_an order to all district magistrates to identify illegal Bangladeshis in the state and begin the process of expulsion. The government order has been prompted by initial investigations _(3)_the involvement of the Bangladesh-based Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HuJI) in the Jaipur blasts.
This is not the first time that HuJI's name has cropped up in terror attacks within India. HuJI is suspected to _(4)_involved in the blasts in Hyderabad last year. Intelligence _(5)_have pointed out that HuJI, which was originally founded in Pakistan, has outsourced most of its operations to Bangladesh.

It is in this context that the Rajasthan government's decision is welcome. According to some estimates, there are 50,000 Bangladeshis in Rajasthan. While this estimate could be on the higher side, we all know that there is migration from Bangladesh in huge numbers. It is virtually impossible to stop Bangladeshi migrants - a majority of whom comes in search of _(6)_jobs and pay - sneaking in through the highly porous 4,100-km border with India. But the government must keep tabs on the migrants to weed out the terrorists. The Indian states bordering Bangladesh - West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura - would naturally have to play a crucial role.

Many illegal migrants from Bangladesh have _(7)_ration cards and voter IDs, often with a West Bengal address. The West Bengal government must cooperate with Rajasthan in _(8)_the authenticity of the documents held by those suspected to be from Bangladesh. There is, of course, a danger that targeting Bangladeshi migrants - many of whom are Muslims - could become a communal issue.

However, Rajasthan's BJP chief minister Vasundhara Raje has been quite sensible in her response to the terror attack. She said in an interview to this newspaper that she won't allow her state to go "the Gujarat way". What she meant was that Muslims won't be singled out as in Gujarat in 2002. The need of the hour is to identify terrorists who are _(9)_India from neighbouring countries and to prevent a repeat of _(10)_such as the one in Jaipur.
