Q.1 In a hostel, the room numbers are numbered from 101 to 130 on first floor, 231 to 270 on the second floor and 361 to 390 on the third floor. If the room occupancy was 60% on the first floor, 40% on the second floor and 75% on the third floor. If the charges of the room per month is 1100, 1500 and 2000 for first floor, second floor and third floor respectively. Find the average annual income of a room in the hostel?

Let the original radius be r cm

 = 44
  ⇒ 2π (2r +1)   = 44
  ⇒ 2r +1   = 44 × 7/22
⇒ 2r +1 = 14
 .˙. r = 6.5 cm

Q.5 The average score of a class of boys and girls in an examination is N. The ratio of boys and girls in the class is 4:1 .If the average score of the boys is (N+1),then the average score of the girls is-

एक परीक्षा में एक कक्षा के लड़को और लड़कियो का औसत स्कोर N है। कक्षा में लड़को और लड़कियों का अनुपात 4:1 है। यदि लड़को का औसत स्कोर (N+1) हो ,तो लड़कियों का औसत स्कोर है-

Let the number of boys be 4x and the number of girls be x
 Total score = (5x )N
 Let the average score of girls be P
⇒ (4x) (N +1)+xP =(5x)N
⇒ 4xN + 4x + xP = 5x N
 x (N - 4) = xP
.˙. P = (N – 4)
