PM launches National Nutrition Mission.
- On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched the National Nutrition Mission and Pan India Expansion of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) covering all 640 districts of the Country at a mega event held at Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan
- The Prime Minister also awarded ten districts for showing outstanding performance in the areas of effective community engagement, enforcement of PC&PNDT Act and enabling education of the girl child.
- Addressing the large gathering on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that through the power of technology, the entire nation is connected with Jhunjhunu. He appreciated Jhunjhunu district for furthering the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao movement. He said there is no question of discrimination based on gender. The Prime Minister stressed on the importance of girls getting access to quality education, just like boys. Emphasizing that a daughter is not a burden, he said girls are bringing pride and glory for our nation, and excelling in several fields.
प्रधानमंत्री ने राष्ट्रीय पोषण मिशन का शुभारंभ किया
- प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस के अवसर पर राजस्थान के झुंझुनू में राष्ट्रीय पोषण मिशन का शुभारंभ किया और साथ ही राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढ़ाओ अभियान के विस्तार की शुरूआत भी की।
- प्रधान मंत्री ने प्रभावी सामुदायिक सगाई, पीसी और पीएनडीटी अधिनियम लागू करने और लड़की की शिक्षा को सक्षम करने के क्षेत्रों में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन के लिए दस जिलों को सम्मानित किया।
- प्रधानमंत्री ने इस अवसर पर विशाल जनसमुदाय को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि प्रौद्योगिकी के जरिये पूरा देश आज झुंझुनू से जुड़ गया है। उन्होंने बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढ़ाओ अभियान के विस्तार के लिए झुंझुनू जिला प्रशासन द्वारा किये गए कार्यों की सराहना की और इस अभियान से जुड़ने के इच्छुक जिलों के अधिकारियों से मुलाकात भी की। उन्होंने अभियान की सफलता के लिए उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन करने वाले जिलों को प्रमाण पत्र प्रदान किये। प्रधानमंत्री ने इस अवसर पर कार्यक्रम की लाभार्थी माताओं और बालिकाओं से बातचीत भी की।

Parvathy — who played the role of an Indian nurse held hostage in Iraq in the critically-acclaimed as well as commercially successful Take Off — won the award for the Best Actor (Female). In the male category, Indrans won the Best Actor award for his role of a desperate father searching for his missing son in Aalorukkam.

World Kidney Day 2018
- Chronic kidney disease in India is more common in women than in men, finds a survey by SRL Diagnostics. The survey showed that abnormalities in kidney function were an average of 11.36 per cent higher in women than in men (9.48%). It also showed that kidney function disorders were very common in the elderly, especially those over 85 years.
- According to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study 2015, chronic kidney disease was ranked 17th among the causes of deaths globally with an annual death rate of 19·2 deaths per 100,000 population. In many countries, chronic kidney disease is now among the top five causes of death. In India, chronic kidney disease was ranked as the eighth leading cause of death, the report said.
- Kidneys are responsible for filtration of harmful fluids and wastes from the body. Thus, it is vulnerable to damage by a range of conditions and infections affecting the body such as diabetes, hypertension, bacterial or viral infection, toxins, smoking and drugs.

- एसईओ डायग्नोस्टिक्स द्वारा एक सर्वेक्षण से पाता चला है की भारत में क्रोनिक किडनी की बीमारी पुरुषों की तुलना में महिलाओं में अधिक आम है। सर्वेक्षण में पता चला कि गुर्दा कार्य में असामान्यताएं पुरुषों (9.48%) की तुलना में महिलाओं में औसत 11.36 प्रतिशत अधिक थीं । इसमें यह भी पता चला है कि बुजुर्गों में विशेष रूप से 85 वर्ष से अधिक में गुर्दे का कार्य विकार बहुत आम था।
- ग्लोबल बोर्डेन ऑफ डिजीज (जीबीडी) के अध्ययन 2015 के मुताबिक मृत्यु दर के कारणों में क्रोनिक किडनी रोग 17 वें स्थान पर था। कई देशों में, मौत के शीर्ष पांच कारणों में अब एक गुर्दा की बीमारी है। रिपोर्ट में , भारत में क्रोनिक किडनी रोग को मौत के आठवें प्रमुख कारण के रूप में स्थान दिया गया था है।
- गुर्दा शरीर से हानिकारक तरल पदार्थ और कचरे के छानने के लिए जिम्मेदार हैं। इस प्रकार, मधुमेह, उच्च रक्तचाप, बैक्टीरिया या वायरल संक्रमण, विषाक्त पदार्थों, धूम्रपान और दवाओं जैसे शरीर को प्रभावित करने वाली कई चीज़े और संक्रमणों से नुकसान होने की संभावना रहती है।
- The Bharatiya Janata Party and Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (BJP-NDPP)-led Peoples Democratic Alliance (PDA) leader Neiphiu Rio will be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Nagaland.
- Nagaland governor PB Acharya will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Rio and other council ministers at a swearing-in ceremony.
- Y Patton, who is already elected as the leader of BJP Legislature Party, is likely to be sworn in as deputy chief minister.
- Apart from Rio and Patton, 10 ministers will be inducted in the cabinet.
- Rio was elected unopposed on an NDPP ticket from 11th Northern Angami-II Assembly constituency.
- He previously was the Chief Minister of Nagaland for three terms, making him the only Nagaland Chief Minister to have served three consecutive terms in office.
- The swearing-in ceremony of the new Nagaland government will be conducted in open air, a first of its kind in the history of Nagaland's Assembly.
नेईफ्यू रियो होंगे नागालैंड के मुख्यमंत्री
- भारतीय जनता पार्टी और राष्ट्रवादी डेमोक्रेटिक प्रोग्रेसिव पार्टी (बीजेपी-एनडीपीपी) ने पीपुल्स डेमोक्रेटिक एलायंस (पीडीए) के नेता नीइपू रियो नगालैंड के नए मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ लेंगे।
- नागालैंड के गवर्नर पी.बी. आचार्य शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में रियो और अन्य काउंसिल के मंत्रियों के पद और गोपनीयता की शपथ दिलाएंगे।
- वाई पॅटन, जो पहले से ही भाजपा विधानसभा दल के नेता के रूप में चुने गए हैं, को उपमुख्य मंत्री के रूप में शपथ दिलाई जाने की संभावना है।
- रियो और पैटन के अलावा, कैबिनेट में 10 मंत्रियों को शामिल किये जायेंगे।

- The Union Cabinet has approved an Agreement between India and France on the Prevention of the Illicit Consumption and Reduction of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Chemical Precursors, and related offences.
- The Agreement is aimed at enhancing mutual cooperation between the two countries in the prevention of the illicit consumption of, and reduction of illicit traffic, in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and chemical precursors and related offences through exchange of information, expertise and capacity building. Establishment of effective institutional interaction and curbing transnational narcotics trafficking including disruption of terrorist financing structures is also envisaged through this Agreement.
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने भारत तथा फ्रांस के बीच एक समझौते को मंजूरी दी
- केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने नशीले पदार्थों, मादक द्रव्यों, उनके रासायनिक यौगिकों की तस्करी और संबंधित अपराधों में कमी लाने और अवैधानिक उपयोग को रोकने के लिए भारत तथा फ्रांस के बीच एक समझौते को मंजूरी दी है।
- इस समझौते का उद्देश्य नशीले पदार्थों, मादक द्रव्यों, उनके रासायनिक यौगिकों की तस्करी और संबंधित अपराधों में कमी लाने और अवैधानिक उपयोग को रोकने के लिए दोनों देशों के आपसी सहयोग को बढ़ाना है। इस उद्देश्य को सूचना, विशेषज्ञता और क्षमता निर्माण के आदान-प्रदान के जरिए पूरा किया जाएगा। समझौते के जरिए आतंकवादी वित्त पोषण ढांचे को समाप्त करने के कदमों सहित राष्ट्रों के बीच नशीले पदार्थों की तस्करी को रोकने तथा प्रभावशाली संस्थागत आदान-प्रदान की स्थापना भी की जाएगी।
