1. HDFC Life inks pact with Vijaya Bank to sell insurance products
HDFC Life Insurance Company inked an agreement with Vijaya Bank to tap customers of the state-owned lender.
The tie-up between the insurer and the lender will ensure a greater reach and penetration through 2,129 branches of the bank spread across the country, HDFC Life said in a statement.

बीमा क्षेत्र की कंपनी एचडीएफसी लाइफ इंश्योरेंस कंपनी ने बीमा उत्पादों की बिक्री के लिये सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के विजया बैंक के साथ समझौता किया है।
एचडीएफसी लाइफ ने बयान में कहा कि बीमा कंपनी और बैंक के बीच समझौते से देशभर में फैली बैंक की 2,129 शाखाओं के माध्यम से अधिक लोगों तक पहुंच सुनिश्चित होगी।
2. Tech Mahindra, Government of Telangana collaborate to launch India's first blockchain district
The Telangana State Information Technology, Electronics and Communication department (ITE&C) has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the global digital transformation provider Tech Mahindra to launch India's first Blockchain District in the state of Telangana.
The Blockchain District will be a Center of Excellence for Blockchain, an incubator for technology and process development with innovative infrastructure and facilities to foster growth of Indian blockchain start-ups and companies.
टेक महिंद्रा ने 'ब्लॉकचेन जिले' के लिये तेलंगाना से हाथ मिलाया
तेलंगाना राज्य सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स एवं संचार विभाग (आईटीईएंडसी) ने भारत का पहला ब्लॉकचेन जिला शुरू करने के लिये टेक महिंद्रा के साथ करार (एमओयू) किया है।
टेक महिंद्रा के सीईओ एवं प्रबंध निदेशक सीपी गुरनानी ने यहां अंतरराष्ट्रीय ब्लॉकचेन कांग्रेस 2018 में कहा कि यह भारतीय ब्लॉकचेन स्टार्टअप समेत अन्य कंपनियों के विकास को बढ़ावा देने के लिये नया बुनियादी ढांचा और सुविधायें प्रदान करेगा। यह ब्लॉकचेन प्रौद्योगिकी के लिये एक इनक्यूबेटर और उत्कृष्ट केंद्र होगा।

4. Sunita Williams among 9 astronauts named by NASA for first commercial flights
Indian-origin US astronaut Sunita Williams is among the nine astronauts named by NASA who will fly the first missions into space on commercially provided rockets and capsules, starting next year.

नासा ने भारतीय मूल की अंतरिक्ष यात्री सुनीता विलियम्स सहित ऐसे नौ लोगों का नाम नामित किया है जो व्यावसायिक रूप से उपलब्ध रॉकेट एवं कैप्सूल के जरिये अंतरिक्ष जाने के पहले मिशन के लिये उड़ान भरेंगे। यह अभियान अगले साल शुरू होगा।
5. India elected president of Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development
India has been elected as the President of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) for a period of two years.
India got elected against Iran during voting which took place at the 44th annual gathering of AIBD in Colombo.

6. Justice Geeta Mittal becomes first woman judge to lead J&K High Court
Justice Geeta Mittal was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, becoming the first woman judge in the history to head it. Justice Mittal was till now the Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
न्यायमूर्ति गीता मित्तल जम्मूकश्मीर उच्च न्यायालय की पहली महिला मुख्य न्यायाधीश बनीं
न्यायमूर्ति गीता मित्तल को जम्मू कश्मीर उच्च न्यायालय का मुख्य न्यायाधीश नियुक्त किया गया। इसके साथ ही राज्य के उच्च न्यायालय की अध्यक्षता करने वाली वह पहली महिला न्यायाधीश बन गयी हैं।
न्यायमूर्ति गीता मित्तल अब तक दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय की कार्यवाहक मुख्य न्यायाधीश थीं।
