1. Former PepsiCo India head D Shivakumar elected as ASCI Chairman
Advertising watchdog ASCI said D Shivakumar, former PepsiCo India head, has been appointed as its chairman.
Shivakumar, who is presently Group Executive President, Corporate Strategy at Aditya Birla Group, was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Board of ASCI for a period of three years.

विज्ञापन नियामक भारतीय विज्ञापन मानक परिषद (एएससीआई) ने कहा कि पेप्सिको इंडिया के पूर्व प्रमुख डी शिवकुमार को उसका चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया गया है।
शिवकुमार अभी आदित्य बिरला समूह में समूह कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष (कॉरपोरेट रणनीति) पद पर कार्यरत हैं। उन्हें सर्वसम्मति से तीन साल के लिए एएससीआई बोर्ड का चेयरमैन चुना गया।

Former India hockey captain Sardar Singh announced retirement from International Cricket.
Sardar, 32, made his senior debut for India against Pakistan in 2006 and since then he has been a vital cog in the Indian team's midfield.
He made over 350 international appearances for India and captained the national team for eight years, from 2008 to 2016, before handing the responsibility to PR Sreejesh.

पूर्व भारतीय हाकी कप्तान सरदार सिंह ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय हाकी से संन्यास की घोषणा की।
सरदार ने भारत के लिये सीनियर टीम में पदार्पण पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ 2006 में किया था और इसके बाद से वह टीम की मध्यपंक्ति में अहम खिलाड़ी बने हुए हैं।
बत्तीस वर्ष के इस खिलाड़ी ने देश के लिये 350 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच खेले और 2008 से लेकर 2016 तक आठ वर्षों तक राष्ट्रीय टीम की कप्तानी भी संभाली। इसके बाद टीम की कमान पी आर श्रीजेश को सौंप दी गयी।
3. Afghanistan's DABS ties up with Tata Power
The Afghanistan government has brought on board India's utility major Tata Power for distribution, transmission and generation of power in the war-ravaged South-Asian country.
The Afghanistan government-run power distribution firm, Da Afghanistan Bresha Sherkat (DABS), Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during the second India-Afghanistan International Trade and Investment show.

Veteran BJP leader L K Advani has been renominated as the chairman of the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
