1. India ranks 130 in UN's human development index
India climbed one spot to 130 among 189 countries in the latest human development index released the United Nations Development Programme. Within South Asia, India's human development index (HDI) value is above the average of 0.638 for the region, with Bangladesh and Pakistan, countries with similar population size, being ranked 136 and 150 respectively.
In 2016, India's HDI value of 0.624 put it at 131 rank.
संयुक्त राष्ट्र के मानव विकास सूचकांक में भारत 130वें स्थान पर
संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) द्वारा जारी ताजा मानव विकास सूचकांक में भारत 189 देशों में एक स्थान ऊपर चढ़कर 130वें स्थान पर पहुंच गया है।
दक्षिण एशिया में भारत का मानव विकास सूचकांक (एचडीआई) का मूल्य क्षेत्र के औसत 0.638 से अधिक है। इस सूची में बांग्लादेश और पाकिस्तान क्रमश: 136 और 150वें स्थान पर हैं।
2016 में भारत का स्थान 131 था।
2. Tata Steel bags 'Steel Industry Leader' award
Tata Steel has been adjudged Steel Industry Leader globally by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2018 (DJSI), a Tata Steel press release.
Tata Steel is also the only India-based company to emerge as a winner among all 60 sectors evaluated for DJSI 2018.
टाटा स्टील को शीर्ष वैश्विक इस्पात कंपनी का पुरस्कार
टाटा स्टील को वैश्विक इस्पात उद्योग की अग्रणी कंपनी माना गया है। डाउ जोन्स सस्टेनेबिलिटी इंडेक्स 2018 में कंपनी को यह दर्जा दिया गया है। कंपनी के शुक्रवार को जारी बयान में यह जानकारी दी गई है।
सूचकांक में 60 श्रेणियों की कंपनियों का मूल्यांकन किया गया और टाटा स्टील एकमात्र भारतीय कंपनी रही जो किसी श्रेणी में विजेता बनकर उभरी।
3. South Korea launches its first missile-capable submarine
South Korea launched its first ever missile-capable attack submarine.
The $700 million, 3,000-tonne Dosan Ahn Chang-ho submarine is capable of firing both cruise and ballistic missiles and the first of three planned diesel-electric boats to go into service in the next five years.

दक्षिण कोरिया ने मिसाइल हमले में सक्षम अपनी पहली पनडुब्बी का जलावतरण किया।
तीन हजार टन की डोसान हन चांग हो पनडुब्बी के निर्माण में 70 करोड़ डॉलर की लागत आई है। यह क्रूज और बैलिस्टिक दोनों प्रकार की मिसाइल दागने में सक्षम है।
अगले पांच वर्ष में इस किस्म की तीन डीजल इलेक्ट्रिक बोट सेवा में आनी है। उनमें से यह पहली है।
4. India to hold its first global tourism mart from Sep 16
India will hold its first-ever global tourism mart modelled on the ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-B rse Berlin), the world's largest tourism trade fair, the Ministry of Tourism said.
The mart will be held in Delhi from September 16-18, said Secretary, Tourism Ministry Rashmi Verma.
अपने पहले वैश्विक पर्यटन मार्ट का आयोजन करेगा भारत
भारत आईटीबी बर्लिन (इंटरनेशनल टूरिज्मस-बोर्स बर्लिन) की तर्ज पर पहले वैश्विक पर्यटन मार्ट का आयोजन करेगा।
पर्यटन मंत्रालय रश्मि वर्मा ने बताया कि पर्यटन मार्ट दिल्ली में 16 से 18 सितंबर के बीच आयोजित किया जाएगा।
5. Coast Guard commissions patrol vessel 'Vijaya'
The Indian Coast Guard commissioned the indigenously built patrol vessel 'Vijaya', fitted with advanced navigation and communication equipment, here Friday.
The 98-metre ship will be based at Paradip in Odisha for extensive surveillance in the Exclusive Economic Zone, an official release said.
स्वदेशी गश्ती जहाज ‘विजया’ तट रक्षक की सेवा में शामिल
भारतीय तट रक्षक ने उन्नत नेविगेशन और संचार उपकरण से सुसज्जित स्वदेशी गश्ती जहाज 'विजया' को सेवा में शामिल किया।
आधिकारिक विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार 98 मीटर लंबे इस जहाज को विशिष्ट आर्थिक क्षेत्र में गहन जांच के लिए ओडिशा के पारादीप में तैनात किया जाएगा।
