1. WCCB gets Asia Environment Enforcement Awards
The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) has been selected among the winners of the Asia Environment Enforcement Awards for its work in combating trans-boundary environmental crime, Union Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan said.
The minister said this is the second time in a row that the awards are being given by UN Environment to India.

2. Sitharaman inaugurates Manipur's mega Sangai festival
Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated Manipur's annual Sangai tourism festival.
The 10-day festival, the biggest of the state, will see various cultural troupes from different parts of the country, including Assam, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh; and countries like Thailand and South Korea, the organisers said.

4. India to host the Union World Conference on Lung Health next year
The Union World Conference on Lung Health will be held in Hyderabad next year, a global organisation working in this field announced.
The conference 'Ending the Emergency: Science, Leadership, Action' which will be held from October 30 to November 2 next year, the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease said. It will focus on what is needed to ensure commitments become action and targets are met, the organisation also called The Union said.
