1- The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) is celebrating the 159th Income Tax Day on 24 July 2019. It was on 24th July, 1860 that Income Tax was introduced for the first time in India by Sir James Wilson to compensate for the losses incurred by the British regime during the first war of independence against British Rule. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend an event to mark Income Tax Day in New Delhi.
केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड (CBDT) ने 24 जुलाई 2019 को 159 वां आयकर दिवस मनाया । ब्रिटिश शासन के खिलाफ स्वतंत्रता के पहले युद्ध के दौरान ब्रिटिश शासन द्वारा हुए नुकसान की भरपाई के लिए 24 जुलाई, 1860 को सर जेम्स विल्सन द्वारा भारत में पहली बार आयकर पेश किया गया था। वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण नई दिल्ली में आयकर दिवस को चिह्नित करने के लिए एक कार्यक्रम में भाग लेंगी।
2- Boris Johnson has been elected as the leader of Britain's governing Conservative Party and the country's next Prime Minister. Johnson will take over as Prime Minister Theresa May, who stepped down over her failure to get parliament to ratify her Brexit deal.
बोरिस जॉनसन को ब्रिटेन की गवर्निंग कंजर्वेटिव पार्टी के नेता और देश के अगले प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में चुना गया है। जॉनसन ने प्रधान मंत्री थेरेसा मे के रूप में पदभार संभाला, जिन्होंने अपने ब्रेक्सिट सौदे की पुष्टि के लिए संसद में असफलता पर कदम रखा।
3- Abhay Singh of Tamil Nadu and Asian Games medallist Tanvi Khanna clinched the men's and women's titles respectively in the sixth Bengal Open squash tournament in Kolkatta. Second seed Singh defeated top seed Abhishek Pradhan 11-6 11-6 11-4, while Tanvi fought her way past Tamil Nadu's Aparajitha Balamurukan 11-7 11-6 5-11 13-11.
तमिलनाडु के अभय सिंह और एशियाई खेलों की पदक विजेता तन्वी खन्ना ने कोलकता में छठे बंगाल ओपन स्क्वैश टूर्नामेंट में क्रमशः पुरुष और महिला खिताब जीता। दूसरी वरीयता प्राप्त सिंह ने शीर्ष वरीयता प्राप्त अभिषेक प्रधान को 11-6 11-6 11-4 से हराया, जबकि तन्वी ने तमिलनाडु के अपराजिता बालमुरुकन से 11-7 11-6 5-11 13-11 से जीत हासिल की ।
4- HD Kumaraswamy has resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka after meeting Governor Vajubhai Vala. The resignation came after Kumaraswamy-led Congress-JD(S) government lost the trust vote in the Karnataka Assembly.
एचडी कुमारस्वामी ने राज्यपाल वजुभाई वाला से मुलाकात के बाद कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। कर्नाटक विधानसभा में विश्वास मत हारने के बाद कुमारस्वामी के नेतृत्व वाली कांग्रेस-जद (एस) सरकार ने इस्तीफा दे दिया।
5- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised downward India's growth forecast for 2019-20 to 7% from 7.3% due to "a weaker-than-expected outlook for domestic demand". The projection was slashed by 30 bps to 7.2% for the next financial year too. Notably, the World Bank forecast India's GDP to grow by 7.5% during the current and next two financial years.
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (आईएमएफ) ने "घरेलू मांग के लिए कमजोर दृष्टिकोण की अपेक्षा" के कारण 2019-20 के लिए भारत के विकास के पूर्वानुमान को 7.3% से घटाकर 7% कर दिया। अगले वित्त वर्ष के लिए भी यह प्रक्षेपण 30 बीपीएस से घटकर 7.2% हो गया। ध्यान देने योग्य बात यह है कि विश्व बैंक ने चालू और अगले दो वित्तीय वर्षों के दौरान भारत की जीडीपी 7.5% बढ़ने का अनुमान लगाया है।
6- The RBI has assigned Deputy Governor BP Kanungo to run the monetary policy portfolio after the resignation of fellow Deputy Governor Viral Acharya. Kanungo, who will retain his currency management portfolio, would become the sixth member of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). Acharya, who is also a professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business, has left RBI recently .
आरबीआई ने उप-गवर्नर बीपी कानूनगो को उप-गवर्नर विरल आचार्य के इस्तीफे के बाद मौद्रिक नीति पोर्टफोलियो सौंपा है। कानूनगो, जो अपने मुद्रा प्रबंधन पोर्टफोलियो पर कार्य को जारी रखने के साथ ही साथ, मौद्रिक नीति समिति (एमपीसी) का छठे सदस्य बन जायेंगे। आचार्य ने हाल ही में RBI छोड़ दिया था और फिलहाल न्यूयॉर्क विश्वविद्यालय के स्टर्न स्कूल ऑफ बिजनेस में प्रोफेसर पद पर कार्यरत हैं।
7- Former Chinese Premier Li Peng died of an illness at the age of 90, the state media reported. Peng was referred to as the "Butcher of Beijing" for his role in the Tiananmen Square crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in 1989. He served as China's fourth Premier from 1987 to 1998 and held several posts in the Communist Party.
पूर्व चीनी प्रधानमंत्री ली पेंग का 90 वर्ष की आयु में एक बीमारी से निधन हो गया, पेंग को 1989 में तियानमेन स्क्वायर में लोकतंत्र समर्थक प्रदर्शनकारियों पर कार्रवाई के लिए "बीजिंग का कसाई" के रूप में संदर्भित किया गया था। उन्होंने 1987 से 1998 तक चीन के चौथे प्रमुख के रूप में कार्य किया और कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी में कई पदों पर रहे।
8- Army veteran Mark Esper was sworn in as the US' Defence Secretary. Esper succeeds James Mattis, who resigned in December last year following differences with US President Donald Trump over the withdrawal of American troops from Syria.
सेना के दिग्गज मार्क ग्रैफ ने अमेरिका के रक्षा सचिव के रूप में शपथ ली। वह सीरिया के अमेरिकी सैनिकों की वापसी को लेकर अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प के साथ मतभेदों के बाद, पिछले साल दिसंबर में इस्तीफा देने वाले जेम्स मैटिस के पद को संभालेंगे .
