1- Journalist Ravish Kumar is one among 2019 Ramon Magsaysay award winners
Indian journalist Ravish Kumar has been awarded the 2019 Ramon Magsaysay Award for “harnessing journalism to give voice to the voiceless”. He is among five individuals who were declared winners of the award. Ramon Magsaysay Award is considered the highest honour given to Asian individuals and organisations The other winners of the award, dubbed ‘Asia’s premier prize and highest honour’, include Myanmar’s Ko Swe Win, also a journalist; Thailand’s Angkhana Neelapajit, human rights activist; Philippines’ Raymundo Pujante Cayabyab, musician; and South Korea’s Kim Jong-Ki, an activist working with violence and mental health issues in youth.

2- Nation remembering Pingali Venkaiah who designed national flag on his birth anniversary
Pingali Venkaiah, a freedom fighter and the designer of the flag on which the Indian national flag was based was born on 2nd August 1876, near Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Today is his 143rd birth anniversary. Venkaiah's design for the National Flag was finally approved by Mahatama Gandhi in a Congress meeting in Vijayawada in 1921.
देश मना रहा है राष्ट्रीय ध्वज को डिजाइन करने वाले पिंगली वेंकैया की जयंती
स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और भारतीय ध्वज के अभिकल्पक, पिंगली वेंकैया का जन्म 2 अगस्त 1876 को आंध्र प्रदेश में मछलीपट्टनम के पास हुआ था। आज उनकी 143 वीं जयंती है। राष्ट्रीय ध्वज के लिए वेंकैया के डिजाइन को 1921 में विजयवाड़ा में कांग्रेस की बैठक में महात्मा गांधी द्वारा स्वीकृत किया गया था।

The Netherlands banned face-covering clothing, such as a burqa or niqab, in public buildings and on transport as a law on the garment came into force.

4- Saudi women can now travel without male guardian's approval
Saudi Arabia will allow women to obtain passports and travel abroad without approval from a male "guardian". A passport will be granted to any Saudi national who submits an application, said a government ruling published in the official gazette Umm Al Qura. The regulation will be applicable to women over the age of 21. Women's rights activists have campaigned for decades against the guardianship system.

Maharashtra Government has decided to waive off the entire exam fees, including practical exam for class ten and twelve students hailing from drought-affected districts of the state.

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने राज्य के सूखा प्रभावित जिलों से आने वाले कक्षा दस और बारह के छात्रों के लिए व्यावहारिक परीक्षा सहित संपूर्ण परीक्षा शुल्क माफ करने का निर्णय लिया है।
