1- 22nd National Conference on E-Governance inaugurated in Meghalaya
In Meghalaya, the two-day-long 22nd National Conference on E-Governance was inaugurated by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma in the presence of Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region Dr Jitendra Singh at State Convention Centre, Shillong.

ई-गवर्नेंस पर दो दिवसीय 22 वें राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन पूर्वोत्तर राज्य के विकास मंत्रालय के लिए केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) की उपस्थिति में मेघालय के मुख्यमंत्री कॉनराड के संगमा ने राज्य कन्वेंशन सेंटर, शिलांग मेघालय में किया।
2- Former President Pranab Mukherjee receives Bharat Ratna
Former President Pranab Mukherjee was on Thursday presented the country's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna by President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The 83-year-old former President also served as India's Defence Minister, Finance Minister and External Affairs Minister in the past. Social activist Nanaji Deshmukh was honoured by Bharat Ratna posthumously.
पूर्व राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी को भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया
पूर्व राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी को गुरुवार को राष्ट्रपति भवन में राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद द्वारा देश का सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान भारत रत्न प्रदान किया गया। 83 वर्षीय पूर्व राष्ट्रपति ने पूर्व में भारत के रक्षा मंत्री, वित्त मंत्री और विदेश मंत्री के रूप में भी कार्य किया। सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता नानाजी देशमुख को मरणोपरांत भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया।
3 -Rakesh Sinha appointed as member of Press Council: Reports
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu nominated BJP's Rakesh Sinha as a member of the Press Council of India, as per reports. Moreover, five Rajya Sabha members were elected to the parliamentary joint committee on Office of Profit. One of the functions of the committee is to recommend people who hold offices of profit under the central or state government.

राज्यसभा के सभापति एम. वेंकैया नायडू ने रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भाजपा के राकेश सिन्हा को भारतीय प्रेस परिषद के सदस्य के रूप में नामित किया। इसके अलावा, पांच राज्यसभा सदस्यों को लाभ के पद पर संसदीय संयुक्त समिति के लिए चुना गया था। समिति का एक कार्य केंद्र या राज्य सरकार के तहत लाभ के कार्यालय रखने वाले लोगों की सिफारिश करना है।
4- Mary Kom, Bhutia in the selection panel for national sports awards
The national sports awards for athletes and coaches this year will be decided by a single 12-member panel, which includes six-time boxing world champion Mary Kom and former football captain Bhaichung Bhutia. The awards will be given away on August 29, the birth anniversary of former hockey captain Major Dhyan Chand which is celebrated as the National Sports Day.
मैरी कॉम, भूटिया राष्ट्रीय खेल पुरस्कारों के लिए चयन पैनल में

5- Amla has retired from international cricket
South African batsman Hashim Amla has retired from all international cricket with immediate effect. Amla played 124 Tests, 181 ODIs and 44 T20Is between in his 15-year-long cricketing career. He also collected the country’s third-most runs in ODI cricket after former skipper AB de Villiers and Kallis. He went on to make 18,000 runs including 55 centuries and 88 fifty-plus scores across all formats of the game. He is the only South African to have scored a triple century in the Test format. He holds the record for being the fastest batsman to score 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, 6,000 and 7,000 ODI runs.
