In the following passage there are blanks each of which has been numbered. These numbers are given below the passage and against each five words have been suggested, one of which fits the blanks appropriately. Find out the appropriate word in each case. 

Little boys and girls sit in a crude circle on the cement floor of the room after washing their hands. The room is hot and humid, the sun is (A). The children look expectantly at their anganwadi teacher as she places a shiny steel plate in front of each one. Hot rice and vegetable curry is served, and the kids immediately dive into their plates.
