Q.6:- A sum of Rs.4360 is distributed among A, B, C and D in the ratio of 3 : 4 : 5 : 8 but mistakenly it is divided in the ratio of  SSC-CGL-MATHS-24-01-2020  how much more or less amount B get?

Q.8:- A and B entered into a partnership with Rs.70000 and Rs.60000 respectively. After 3 months, A withdrew 2/7 of his stock but after 3 months, he puts back 3/5 of what he had withdrawn. The profit at the end of the year is Rs.72600. How much of this should A receive?

Q. 9. Ajay borrowed Rs.28000 at 10% p.a. He repaid Rs.x at the end of the first year. What amount should he pay at the end of the second year to completely discharge the loan, compound interest being reckoned annually? x has the value such that the borrowed sum is 175% of x.

अजय ने 28000 रुपये 10% वार्षिक ब्याज दर पर उधार लिया उसने पहले वर्ष के अंत में x रुपये का भुगतान किया। ऋण को पूरी तरह से निर्वहन करने के लिए दूसरे वर्ष के अंत में उसे कितनी रकम देनी चाहिए, यदि ब्याज चक्रवृद्धि रूप से संयोजित होता? x का मान ऐसा है कि यह उधार राशि, x का 175% है।

Q. 10. A boat goes 40 km in upstream then return and goes 60 km in downstream if the ratio of time to going 40 km in upstream and 60 km in downstream is 4 : 5. Find the speed of boat in still water if the speed of stream is 4 km/hr.

एक नाव धारा के विपरीत 40 किमी जाती है और लौट कर धारा की दिशा में 60 किमी जाती है। दोनों दिशाओ में जाने में लगे समय का अनुपात 4 : 5 है तो नाव की शांत जल में चाल बताईये यदि धारा की चाल 4 किमी/घंटा है।

(1) 44 km/hr.
(2) 30 km/hr.
(3) 45 km/hr.
(4) 27.5 km/hr.






1.Sol:- (3)

Let length and breadth of rectangle is l and b.
Area = lb
Perimeter = 2 ( l + b)
After increment, length = 1.17l and breadth = 1.17b
Area = 1.3689lb
Percentage change = 36.89%
Perimeter = 2x 1.17 (l + b)
Percentage change = 17%
Required ratio = 36.89 : 17
= 217: 100

2.Sol:- (4)

R = (15/12) x 8 = 10%
Time = 24/8 = 3
CI = SSC-CGL-MATHS-24-01-2020
S.I = 200 x 15 x 2 = 6000
Required difference = 6620 – 6000 = Rs.620

4. Sol:- (2)

12y5x is divisible by 36 means it is also divisible by 4 and 9
Condition: I :- For divisibility by 4, x = 2
Hence y = 7 so number become 12752
Condition-II:- if x = 6 then y =  3
Hence number became 12356
Hence 2 number is possible.

5.Sol:- (4)

If 43x1145y2 is divisible by 88 means it is also divisible by 8 and 11
So value of y = 9 and x = 5
So (3x – 2y) = (15 – 18 ) = - 3

6. Sol:- (3) 

When it is divide in the 3 : 4 : 5 : 8  = 20 ratio
20 ratio = 4360
1 ratio = 218
4 ratio = 218 x 4 = Rs.872
When it is divided in ratio = SSC-CGL-MATHS-24-01-2020
Ratio = 40 : 30 : 24 : 15
109 ratio = 4360
1 ratio = 40
B’s share = 30 x 40 = 1200
Hence B get (1200 – 872) = Rs.328 more

7.Sol:- (3)

Profit = S.P – C.P
8C.P = 72SP – 72 CP
80CP = 72SP
CP/SP = 9 / 10
Profit % = 100/9  = 11(1/9) %

8. Sol. (2)

Investment of A: Investment of B
= [70000 × 3 + (70000 - 20000) × 3 + (50000 + 12000) × 6] : (60000 × 12)
= (210000 + 150000 + 372000) : 720000
= 732000 : 720000 = 61 : 60
Profit of A = SSC-CGL-MATHS-24-01-2020= Rs.36600

9. Sol. (1)

Amount at the end of the first year = SSC-CGL-MATHS-24-01-2020= Rs.30800
Repaid value = SSC-CGL-MATHS-24-01-2020= Rs.16000
Remaining amount = 30800 – 16000 = 14800
Amount at the end of the second year = SSC-CGL-MATHS-24-01-2020= Rs.16280


10. Sol. (1)


Let speed of Boat in still water = x
then ratio to going upstream and downstream = 4/5
