Q.5:-An item was bought at Rs. X and sold at Rs. Y, there by earning a profit of 25%. Had the value of X been 20% less and the value of Y been Rs. 84 less, a profit of 30% would have been earned. What was the value of ‘X’?

Q.7:- Two partners invest Rs. 15750 and Rs. 10350 respectively in a business and agree that 60% of the profit should be divided between them and the remaining profit is to be treated as interest on capital. Let the speed of boat in still water/माना नाव की स्थिर जल में चाल = x kmph/किमी./घंटा
and the rate of stream/और धारा की चाल = y kmph/किमी./घंटा

x + y = 40 ... (I)

x – y = 20 ... (II)
From (I) and (II), we get/ (I) और (II) से, हम प्राप्त करते हैं
x = 30 kmph/किमी./घंटा
