The Online Applications can be filled up to March 3, 2020 till 6:00 P.M. after which the link will be disabled by the Commission. The online Applications can be withdrawn from March 12, 2020 to March 18, 2020 till 6.00 PM after which this link will also be disabled.
The Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to examination.
Candidates are required to apply Online by using the website https://upsconline.nic.in.
Candidate should have details of one Photo ID Card viz. Aadhaar Card/Voter Card/PAN Card issued by the State/Central Government. The candidates will have to upload a scanned copy of the Photo ID whose details have been provided in the online application by him/her. This Photo ID Card will be used by the Commission for all future referencing and the candidate is advised to carry this Photo ID Card while appearing for Examination/Personality Test.
The UPSC Civil Services exam is conducted for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts like - Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise Gr. A), Indian P and T Accounts and Finance Service Gr. 'A', Indian Audit and Accounts Service, Gr. 'A', Indian Defence Accounts Service, Gr. 'A', Indian Revenue Service (IT), Gr. 'A', Indian Civil Accounts Service, Indian Railways Accounts Service, Indian Railways Personnel Service, Indian Railways Traffic Service, Indian Defence Estates Service, Indian Information Service, Gr. 'A, Indian Trade Service, Gr. 'A' (Gr. III), Indian Corporate Law Service, Group 'A, Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service, Gr. Applications are now invited for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination only. The Candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination will have to apply online again and submit on-line Detailed Application Form-I [DAF-I] along with scanned documents/certificates in support of date of birth, category {viz. SC/ST/ OBC(without OBC Annexure) /EWS [Economically Weaker Sections] (without EWS Annexure) /PwBD / Ex-Serviceman} and educational qualification with required Examination Fee.
Eligibility Conditions
For the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the August 1, 2020 i.e., he must have been born not earlier than August 2, 1988 and not later than August 1, 1999.
Age relaxation will be given as per the Government of India rules.
Educational Qualifications
The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University.
Candidates who have appeared at an examination but have not been informed of the result as also the candidates who intend to appear at such a qualifying examination will also be eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination.
Number of attempts
Every candidate appearing at the examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted six attempts at the examination.
Physical Standards
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Civil Services Examination.
Application Fee
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
Scheme of examination
The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages
(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and
(ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts.
