Eight persons - S, R, Q, P, O, N, M and L are standing in a straight line at equidistant. Some of them are facing north while others are facing south. Each of them likes to read the novels of different writers i.e- Chetan Bhagat, Gulzar, Swati Kaushal, Birbal Jha, Anu Garg, Arundhati Roy, David Davidar and Mukul Deva but not necessarily in the same order.

N, who likes to read the novel of Gulzar, is standing third to the right to S who likes to read the novel of David Davidar. N is standing at one of the extreme ends and he is the immediate neighbours of R, who likes to read the novel of Anu Garg. The immediate neighbours of R do not like to read the novel of Birbal Jha. M is not an immediate neighbour of S. The persons standing at the extreme ends face the same direction (both are facing either North or South). The immediate neighbours of S face just opposite direction as that of N. The immediate neighbours of L face opposite direction with respect to each other. One of the immediate neighbour of O is P who is facing north. R is standing between Q and N. Not more than four persons are facing north. Immediate neighbour of O likes to read the novel of Swati Kaushal.
