1. Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of Rs. 1 crore on an SBI associate bank, State Bank of Travancore, for violation of some of its instructions. The monetary penalty has been imposed for violation of RBI's instructions including reporting of data to Central Repository of Information on Large Credits (CRILC). RBI set up CRILC to collect, store, and disseminate data on all borrowers’ credit exposures.
भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने एसबीआई के सहायक बैंक, स्टेट बैंक ऑफ त्रावणकोर पर कुछ निर्देशों के उल्लंघन के मामले में 1 करोड़ रुपए का जुर्माना लगाया है। स्टेट बैंक ऑफ त्रावणकोर पर मौद्रिक जुर्माना आरबीआई के निर्देशों के उल्लंघन के लिए लगाया गया है। इनमें सेंट्रल डिपॉजिटरी ऑफ इन्फॉर्मेशन ऑन लार्ज क्रेडिट (सीआरआईएलसी) को आंकड़ों की जानकारी नहीं देना शामिल हैं। रिजर्व बैंक ने सीआरआईएलसी की स्थापना सभी कर्जदाताओं के कर्ज के बारे में आंकड़ें जुटाने और उनको संग्रहीत करने के लिए किया था।
2. Filippo Grandi of Italy took over as Chief of the office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), succeeding António Guterres whose more than 10 years in office ended last week.

3. India's third largest IT company Wipro has appointed former TCS executive and current Wipro COO Abidali Neemuchwala as the new CEO and member of the board of the company. Current CEO of Wipro T.K. Kurien has been appointed as the executive vice chairman of the company. Both these appointments will be effective from 1st February 2016.
भारत की तीसरी सबसे बड़ी आईटी कंपनी विप्रो ने पूर्व टीसीएस के कार्यकारी और वर्तमान विप्रो सीओओ आबिद अली नीमचवाला को कंपनी का नया सीईओ और बोर्ड का सदस्य नियुक्त किया है। इसके साथ ही विप्रो के वर्तमान सीईओ टी.के. कुरियन को कंपनी का कार्यकारी वाइस चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया गया है। यह दोनो नियुक्तियां 1 फरवरी 2016 से लागू होंगी।
4. The committee headed by former Chief Justice of India, R.M. Lodha, submitted its report on the various aspects of reforms in the BCCI to the Supreme Court. Some important recommendations of Lodha Committee are-- legalization of betting in the country for all except cricket players, officials and administrators, separate governing bodies for the IPL and BCCI and no BCCI office-bearer can be Minister or government servant, etc.
सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति आर.एम. लोढ़ा के नेतृत्व वाली समिति ने बीसीसीआई में सुधारों के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर अपनी रिपोर्ट सर्वोच्च न्यायालय को सौंप दी। आर.एम. लोढ़ा समिति की कुछ प्रमुख सिफारिशें हैं-- क्रिकेट खिलाड़ियों, अधिकारियों और प्रशासकों को छोड़कर सभी के लिए देश में सट्टेबाजी को वैधानिक मान्यता प्रदान की जाय, आईपीएल तथा बीसीसीआई के लिए अलग-अलग गवर्निंग संस्थाएं हों तथा बीसीसीआई में किसी भी मंत्री अथवा सरकारी अधिकारी/कर्मी को कोई पद न मिले, आदि।
5. Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (RAPP), which has been built by Sterlite Grid, became the first in the country to become eligible for the Power Ministry’s incentive programme under which power transmission projects achieving early completion will be incentivized. The project has been completed within 12 months from the start of construction. It was awarded to the company in 2013.
राजस्थान परमाणु विद्युत परियोजना (आरएपीपी), जिसका निर्माण स्टरलाइट ग्रिड ने किया है, बिजली मंत्रालय के प्रोत्साहन कार्यक्रम के तहत लाभ हासिल करने वाली देश की पहली पॉवर ट्रांसमिशन परियोजना बन गई है जिसमें परियोजना को मियाद से पहले पूरा करने पर प्रोत्साहन प्रदान किया जाता है। इस परियोजना को काम शुरू होने के 12 माह के भीतर पूरा कर लिया गया। इस परियोजना के लिए कम्पनी को वर्ष 2013 में अनुमति मिली थी।

In India 69.2 million people have diabetes and by 2035, it is estimated that 123.5 million people will have diabetes.

7. Mumbai teenager Pranav Dhanawade scripted history by becoming the first batsman ever to notch up a four-figure score, smashing an unbeaten knock of 1009 in an inter-school tournament. The 15-year-old, playing for K.C. Gandhi Higher Secondary School, reached the gigantic score in just 323 deliveries in the game against Arya Gurukul in the Bhandari Cup inter-school tournament organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). Dhanawade smashed a whopping 129 fours and 59 sixes.

8. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) won the prestigious 26th Lal Bahadur Shastri Hockey tournament. To win the title, the ONGC defeated Indian Railways in the final match held at the Shivaji Stadium in New Delhi.

9. New Zealand sealed the one-day series against Sri Lanka with Martin Guptill`s century spearheading a 36-run victory in the fifth and final one-day international cricket match played at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. Matt Henry's five-wicket bag helped ensure the hosts took a 3-1 series win to go. New Zealand scored 294 runs for 5 wickets and bowled out Sri Lanka on 258 runs.

10. Matthew Hobden, the English county cricket club's Sussex pace bowler, has died at the age of 22. He was born in Eastbourne. He made his first-class debut for Sussex in 2014 and had represented the county across all three formats.
इंग्लिश काउंटी क्रिकेट क्लब ससेक्स के तेज गेंदबाज मैथ्यू हॉबडेन का 22 वर्ष की उम्र में निधन हो गया। ईस्टबर्न में जन्में मैथ्यू ने वर्ष 2014 में ससेक्स की ओर से प्रथम श्रेणी क्रिकेट में पदार्पण किया था। उन्होंने क्रिकेट के तीनों प्रारूपों में क्लब का प्रतिनिधित्व किया था।
