1. IMMUTABLE (ADJECTIVE): not changing or unable to be changed

Synonyms: sacrosanct, stable 

Antonyms: flexible, mutable

Example Sentence: 

Some people regard grammar as an immutable set of rules.


2. INEXPLICABLE (ADJECTIVE): beyond comprehension, explanation

Synonyms: incomprehensible, mysterious Antonyms: explainable, understandable 

Example Sentence:

What happened was so savage, and so inexplicable, that it never let her go.


3. MENDACIOUS (ADJECTIVE): having a lying, false character

Synonyms: dishonest, deceitful Antonyms: truthful, sincere

Example Sentence:

The mendacious content of the magazines is at times entertaining.


4. PENURIOUS (ADJECTIVE): miserly, avaricious

Synonyms: close- fisted, stingy Antonyms: spendthrift, lavish

Example Sentence:

She complained that her husband’s penurious ways made it impossible to live the lifestyle she felt she deserved.


5. REPLETE (ADJECTIVE): full, abundant 

Synonyms: loaded, well-stocked Antonyms: lacking, needy

Example Sentence:

The store was replete with fresh fruits. 


6. MULL (VERB): think about (something) deeply and at length.

Synonyms: examine, ponder Antonyms: disregard, ignore

Example Sentence:

A lot of us mull over taking the right kind of insurance that really serves our needs.


7. SPRUCE (VERB): make someone or something smarter or tidier 

Synonyms: polish, enhance Antonyms: degrade, tarnish 

Example Sentence:

The fund will be used to spruce up the city.


8. JUBILANT (ADJECTIVE): extremely joyful, happy

Synonyms: euphoric, exuberant Antonyms: depressed, sorrowful

Example Sentence:

The crowd was jubilant when P.V Sandhu won silver medal at Rio Olympics.


9. EXIGENT (ADJECTIVE): urgent, critical

Synonyms: crucial, acute Antonyms: easy, facile

Example Sentence:

The patient has an exigent need for medication, or else he will lose his sight.


10. FERAL (ADJECTIVE): wild, savage

Synonyms: ferocious, brutal Antonyms: domesticated, cultivated

Example Sentence:

That cat looks so feral that one fears going near to it.
