1. PERNICIOUS (ADJECTIVE) - bad/hurtful

Synonyms- devastating, deadly 

Antonyms- healthy, wholesome

Example- 

We avoid pernicious words.


2. FIGMENT (NOUN) - creation in one’s mind.

Synonyms- daydream, fiction Antonyms- reality, fact

Example- 

Most superheroes are based on figments.


3. PROLONG (VERB)- extend

Synonyms- lengthen, perpetuate Antonyms- shorten, cease

Example- 

The meeting was prolonged by the manager.


4. MIRAGE (NOUN)- imaginary vision

Synonyms- fantasy, hallucination Antonyms- reality, fact

Example- 

The mirage fooled us all.


5. UNDERPRIVILEGED (ADJECTIVE)- poor

Synonyms- deprived, impoverished Antonyms- wealthy, privileged

Example-

He was an underprivileged person.


6. VERSATILE (ADJECTIVE)- dexterous

Synonyms- gifted, talented Antonyms- worthless, useless

Example- 

The versatile teacher taught a lot of things.


7. CAUTIOUS (ADJECTIVE) - careful

Synonyms- judicious, tentative Antonyms- inattentive, reckless

Example- 

The cautious soldier dealt with him carefully. 


8. ENTHUSIASTIC (ADJECTIVE)- interested

Synonyms- vigorous, zealous Antonyms- impotent, impassionate

Example- 

The enthusiastic students were ready to do anything.


9. ANNEX (VERB)- seize

Synonyms- acquire, attain Antonyms- donate, give

Example- 

Germany annexed Alsace-Lorraine from France.


10. AUTHENTIC (ADJECTIVE) - real

Synonyms- credible, accurate Antonyms- invalid, untrustworthy

Example- 

The authentic facts must be known to all.
