1. India has climbed 16 places to the 39th rank on the Global Competitiveness Index prepared by the World Economic Forum (WEF). For the eighth straight time, the list is topped by Switzerland as the most competitive economy. Singapore and the US are at the second and third positions, respectively. This year, 138 economies have been assessed for their competitiveness.
भारत विश्व आर्थिक मंच (डब्ल्यूईएफ) के वैश्विक प्रतिस्पर्धा सूचकांक में 16 अंक की छलांग लगाकर 39वें स्थान पर पहुंच गया है। लगातार आठवीं बार स्विट्जरलैंड सबसे अधिक प्रतिस्पर्धी अर्थव्यवस्था बना है। इस सूची में सिंगापुर दूसरे तथा अमेरिका तीसरे स्थान पर रहा है। इस साल सूची में 138 अर्थव्यवस्थाओं की प्रतिस्पर्धा को परखा गया है।

3. The United States has appointed Jeffrey DeLaurentis as its ambassador to Cuba. This appointment of a US ambassador in Cuba took place after a gap of five decades.
अमेरिका ने राजनयिक जेफ्री डेलॉरेन्टिस को क्यूबा का राजदूत नियुक्त किया है। क्यूबा में किसी अमेरिकी राजदूत की यह नियुक्ति पांच दशक के अंतराल के बाद हुई है।

7. Suriya Loganathan of Railways and G Lakshmanan from Services won gold medals in their respective divisions over 5000m on the opening day of 56th Open National Athletics championship.
रेलवे की सूरिया लोगनाथन और सेना के जी लक्ष्मणन ने 56वीं ओपन राष्ट्रीय एथलेटिक्स चैम्पियनशिप के पहले दिन 5000 मीटर दौड़ में अपनी अपनी स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीते।

India Tourism Development Corporation, a PSU under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, on completion of its 50 Year of inception on 1st October 2016 launched a Logo marking the Golden Jubilee of ITDC.
