1. According to the Nature Index 2016 Rising Stars report, India is at the second position among countries with the highest increase in their contribution to high-quality scientific research. China has topped this list.

5. According to the Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2016, India has been rated as having "serious" hunger levels, with 15.2% of its population undernourished. India has been ranked 97th in the list 118 developing countries.
ग्लोबल हंगर इंडेक्स (जीएचआई) 2016 के अनुसार, भारत की कुल आबादी का 15.2% कुपोषित एवं "गंभीर" भूख के स्तर वाली आबादी के रूप में दर्ज किया गया है। भारत 118 विकासशील देशों की इस सूची में 97 वें स्थान पर है।
6. According to US Treasury Department's latest data, India’s holdings of the US government bonds touched a high of $123.7 billion in July, making it the 12th largest holder. China and Japan were the top two countries.
अमेरिका के ट्रेजरी विभाग के ताजा आंकड़ों के अनुसार, भारत द्वारा अमेरिकी सरकार के बांड का कुल स्तर जुलाई में 123.7 बिलियन $ के एक उच्च स्तर पहुँच गया और इसके साथ ही भारत यूएस बांडों का 12 वां सबसे बड़ा धारक भी बन गया है। चीन और जापान इसमें दो शीर्ष देश हैं।
7. The 28th India and Indonesia Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) and Second Bilateral Maritime Exercise have commenced at Belawan, Indonesia in the Andaman Sea. The 17-day-long bilateral exercise will end on 27, October, 2016.

8. In Telangana, 21 new districts were carved out of the existing 10 districts. With this, Telangana state now has a total 31 districts. Chief Minister Chandrasekhara Rao inaugurated Siddipet district at Siddipet town by hoisting the national Flag.
