Former Punjab police chief K.P.S. Gill dies at 82
Former Punjab top cop K.P.S. Gill, who is credited with having played a big role in eliminating terrorism from Punjab, died. He was 82.
Gill, who was known as 'supercop', was DGP of Punjab Police between 1988 and 1990 and came back to the post again in 1991 and held it till retirement in 1995.

Larsen arm, ICT ink pact to build ethanol plants
L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering has signed an agreement with Institute of Chemical Technology to build ethanol plants based on indigenous technology.
L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) to build ethanol plants based on fully indigenous technology by ICT, it said.

Indian holds painting exhibit on eminent personalities in Aus
An Indian-origin man has organised an exhibition showcasing portraits made by him of 50 well known Australian personalities like cricketing icons Shane Warne and Ricky Ponting.
The two-day long exhibition by Melbourne-based resident Sedunath Prabhakar was launched and opened for public by Parliament Speaker Colin Brooks, Multicultural Minister Robin Scott, Indian Consul General Manika Jain and other Indian community members.
