Importance of reasoning and study plan for topic according to importance:
Reasoning plays a vital role to qualify Prelims with good marks as it is one of the easiest sections of all, thus providing a base for the highest score in the SSC Prelims. The topics which we should prepare first while preparing Reasoning is from “Series”.
From previous years exam papers we can easily understand that we get 8 to 10 marks questions from this. So we are required to first emphasis on the topics of Series like:-
1. Analogy (words and numbers)
2. Odd pair
3. Classification
4. Dictionary based series
5. Inserting missing characters
6. Logical sequence of words
To prepare these topics you can buy any book of reasoning with previous year questions of SSC, if you can get book consisting chapter topic-wise prefer it.
You can prepare each topic in a single day by practicing 50 to 75 questions of each topic. By doing so 6 days of a week will pass on now on 7th day of week you are required to go through all the topics which you have practiced in last 6 days.
From the next week, the topic you should start preparing is “Arrangement”.
Arrangement is another important topic for SSC candidates. The topic which you required to go through to prepare this are:

You should try to cover each topic in a day but don’t leave the topic after a day if you can’t cover it completely. Some of the above topics may take 2 to 3 days depending upon the familiarity of you with the topics so don’t get harsh on yourself take your time to understand each chapter.
But while doing so don’t forget to revise the topic you have studied earlier. You have to spend one day after every six day on revising the topics which you have studied earlier.
After this you should go through coding and decoding which is another important topic. While preparing coding decoding you should cover topic
1. Typical coding decoding
2. Symbols
3. Maths operations
You should cover each of these topics in a day only.
After this you can go with logical Reasoning covering topic
1. Syllogism (2 statements and 3 statements)
2. Conventional Venn Diagrams
3. Assumption, interference, conclusion etc.
These topics need more practice once you understand the basic concepts of each topic try to give atleast 2 days on each topic.
After this you can go through questions based on images, which will consist chapter
1. Cubes-dices: predicting color, numbers in other faces
2. Sequence of figures
3. Paper-cutting, folding, punching
4. Mirrors and water reflection
5. Configuration, fitting pieces, odd pieces etc.
Try to cover 1 chapter in 1 day.
Don’t forget to revise the previous chapters you have studied.
Now you can revise the remaining chapters like Matrix, Clock, calendar, etc.
Once you have finished all the chapters of reasoning. Start attempting reasoning section only from practice set daily. With a stop watch and try to complete the section of 25 questions in 12 to 15 minutes and 50 question section in 22 to 25 minutes.
On every seventh day try to revise all the sets which you have practiced in last 6 days analyses your mistake and work on the topics in which you have answered maximum questions wrong.
