Keith Vaz elected to head UK’s committee on immigration, visas
Britain's longest serving MP of Indian-origin Keith Vaz has been elected to serve as the head of a new parliamentary committee to deal with issues concerning immigration and visas.
Vaz, who has served in Parliament for 30 years will be joined as an Officer of the Group by Conservative MP Bob Blackman, who will be the Vice Chair for the group and Martyn Day, a Scottish National MP who will serve as Secretary.

ब्रिटेन में सबसे लंबे समय से सांसद भारतीय मूल के कीथ वाज आव्रजन एवं वीजा मामले की नयी संसदीय समिति के प्रमुख चुने गए हैं।
करीब 30 साल से बतौर सांसद रहे वाज के साथ इस समिति में कंजरवेटिव सांसद बॉब ब्लैकमैन उप प्रमुख और स्कॉटिश नेशनल पार्टी के मार्टिन डे बतौर सचिव सेवा देंगे।

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the 200th- anniversary celebrations of the Paika Rebellion of Odisha on July 20, 2017 in New Delhi. The President congratulated the Government for recognizing this great event of our cherished history of freedom struggle. He said that the year-long celebrations should be documented for future guidance at the end of the year. He also urged historians to concentrate on indigenous source material available in folk songs and folk stories narrated over the years by one generation to another.

भारत के राष्ट्रपति श्री प्रणव मुखर्जी ने आज नई दिल्ली में 20 जुलाई, 2017 ओडिशा के पयिका विद्रोह की 200 वीं वर्षगांठ का उद्घाटन किया। राष्ट्रपति ने स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के अपने पोषित इतिहास की इस महान घटना को पहचानने के लिए सरकार को बधाई दी। उन्होंने कहा कि साल के अंत में भावी मार्गदर्शन के लिए वर्षभर समारोह का दस्तावेजीकरण किया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने इतिहासकारों से आग्रह किया कि साल में एक पीढ़ी से दूसरी पीढ़ी तक लोक गीतों और लोक कथाओं में उपलब्ध स्वदेशी स्रोत सामग्री पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया जा चाहिए।
