Let father's age be x year and son's age be y year.

According to question,

2(x+y) = 8y _______(I)

and = 28

or, x+y = 56 years__________(II)

From equation (I) and (II)

8 y = 112

y = 14 years, hence x = 42 years

8.) The total cost of making 7 metre wide garden around a circular plot with radius 14 metres is Rs. 6888. What would be the total cost of making a square garden with side equal to 17 metres at the same rate? (approx)
