Himalayan rivers- The Indus, The Ganga and The Brahmaputra together forms the Himalayan rivers
- These are perennial rivers that are they are rain fed as well as snow falls have water throughout the year.
- Himalayan rivers have long courses
- They form depositional floodplains and deltas
Peninsular rivers
- Peninsular rivers may be east flowing and west flowing
- They are Seasonal and fed by rainfall.
- The water table is reduced during dry water season
- They have shorter and shallower courses
- Most of these rivers originate in the Western Ghats and flow towards the Bay of Bengal
