CAT Order Regarding SSC CGL 2016 Descriptive Paper

Dear Aspirants, 

A good news for all candidates of SSC CGL 2016 examination. The Central Administrative Tribunal Principal Bench, New Delhi has issued the verdict in the favor of all the affected candidates in SSC CGL 2016 Descriptive paper. 

Some candidates of SSC CGL 2016 (Tier-3) did not mention their medium and such other particulars in the answer sheet.They made representations dated 20.03.17 and 31.03.17 to the SSC for rectification of the errors in answer sheet pertaining in Tier III Exam.SSC has published the final results along with the statements of marks in which the applicants have been shown to be rejected due to the error was done by them on the answer sheet. Suffering from the same, the applicants have contacted the Tribunal out of 33053 candidates, who were present in the Tier-III examination, only 484 have violated the above-mentioned instructions.

CAT Order Summary: 

1.CAT Observed that the mistake committed by the applicants were non-essential and non-substantive.

2. Cancellation of their candidature for these minor mistakes was unwarranted.

3. Despite the mistakes made by the applicants, enough material was available to evaluate them.

4.  If the candidates are rejected on this non-mandatory basis, the very objective of conducting competitive exams, namely to identify the most meritorious candidates for filling up the available post will be defeated.

5. SSC is directed to process the candidature of the applicants and declare their result on the basis of pure merit list if they are not found ineligible for any other reason.

6. The aforesaid exercise should be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order. no cost
