PM Narendra Modi inaugurated global conference on consumer protection in New Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a global conference on consumer protection in New Delhi. This is the first time that an international conference on consumer protection is being organised by India for countries of the region.
22 Asian countries are participating in this conference. The conference will deliberate upon steps taken by Asian countries to implement the United Nations guidelines on consumer protection as well as challenges faced by consumers of financial services and e-commerce.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने नई दिल्ली में उपभोक्ता संरक्षण पर वैश्विक सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन किया। यह पहला अवसर है जब भारत उपभोक्ता संरक्षण पर क्षेत्र के देशों के लिये अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन आयोजित कर रहा है।
इस सम्मेलन में एशिया के 22 देश भाग ले रहे है। सम्मेलन में उपभोक्ता संरक्षण के बारे में संयुक्त राष्ट्र के
दिशा-निर्देशों को लागू करने के लिए एशियाई देशों में उठाए गए कदमों पर भी विचार-विमर्श किया जाएगा।

India has ranked 28th out of 30 countries in the Melbourne Mercer Global Pension Index 2017 published by Australian Centre for Financial Studies (ACFS). Denmark has retained the top spot in this index for sixth consecutive year.

The International Institute for Electronic Assistance, which studies the situation of the democratic system at the global level has appointed former Chief Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi and former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan as the "Global Democracy Ambassador".
