What is a PGDBF Program?
A PGDBF programme is a diploma course offered by a deemed university. The duration of the course is spread over 1 year (9+3 months). The course is divided into classroom sessions for 9 months and internship at the bank for 3 months.
On successful completion of the course within the stipulated time period, the candidates are offered appointment in the bank as Probationary Officer in Junior Management Grade / Scale-I.
So, it is one of the best opportunities for you, as in this time of great competition, you will be directly placed to scale-I post after successful competition of the course.

Syndicate Bank:
Start date of online Registration: 2nd January 2018
Last date of online Registration: 17th January 2018
Date of Online test (Tentative): 18th February 2018
Canara Bank:
Start date of online Registration: 9th January 2018
Last date of online Registration: 31st January 2018
Date of Online test (Tentative): 4th March 2018
Eligibility:
Syndicate Bank: A candidate with a Degree (Graduation) with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD) or equivalent, in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government is eligible to apply for this exam.
Age limit: The Minimum age limit is 20 years and the Maximum age limit is 28 years.
Canara Bank: A candidate with a Degree (Graduation) with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD) or equivalent, in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government is eligible to apply for this exam.
Age limit: The Minimum age limit is 20 years and the Maximum age limit is 30 years.
How to apply?
You can apply on the official websites of both the banks i.e. on http://www.canarabank.com for Canara Bank and on https://www.syndicatebank.in for Syndicate Bank.
Programme Fees:
The fees of the programme is about 3.50 lakhs for both the banks. You can pay the entire fees on your own or avail the loan provided by the banks.
The EMIs for the loan would start from the month of joining the Bank. There would be no recovery of EMIs or interest during the course period of One year and the interest accrued during this course period of one year would be recovered along with the normal EMIs. The EMIs are spread over a period of 84 months (7 years) to ensure that there is minimal impact on the monthly earnings of the Probationary Officer.
Application Fees:
Syndicate Bank: The application fees for SC/ST/PWD candidates is Rs 118 and for general candidates is Rs 708.
Canara Bank: The application fees for SC/ST/PWD candidates is Rs 100 and for general candidates is Rs 600.
Exam Pattern:
Syndicate Bank: The exam will be spread over following sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and General Awareness. Each section will have 50 questions of 50 marks. It will be followed by a descriptive test of 30 minutes. The descriptive test will have 2 questions of 50 marks.
However, the descriptive test of only those candidates will be check who will score minimum qualifying marks in objective test. The composite time for the exam is 2.30 hours.

The exam will be spread over following sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and General Awareness. Each section will have 50 questions of 50 marks. The maximum marks for the exam is 200 marks and the composite time for the exam is 2 hours.
