It’s a Good news that UP Police has released notification for the post of Reserved Citizen Police and Reserved Territorial Armed Constabulary. The total number of vacancies is 41,520. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: A candidate must have passed Class 12th or equivalent from a university recognized by Government of India.
Age Limit:
For Males- Minimum age: 18 years
Maximum age: 22 years
For Females- Minimum age: 18 years
Maximum age: 25 years
Application Fees- The application fees for the exam is Rs 400.
UP Police Constable Selection Process:
The selection process for the UP Police Constable will involve following steps:
1. Written Exam
2. Physical Test
3. Document Verification
4. Medical Test
As the list shows the written exam will be followed by a physical test followed by document verification and medical test.
Exam Pattern:
The exam will have four sections:
1. General Knowledge
2. Numerical Ability
3. Reasoning Ability
4. General Hindi
The maximum marks for the exam will be 300 marks.
Physical Test Pattern: This test is qualifying in nature and will be conducted after the written exam. The process of the physical test will involve:
For Male: Race of 4.8 Km have to complete in 25 minutes.
For Female: Race of 2.4 Km have to complete in 14 minutes.
SYLLABUS FOR THE WRITTEN EXAM:
The detailed syllabus of the four sections of the written exam is as follows:
1. General Knowledge- This section will include topics from History, Geography, Economics, Indian Constitution, Science, Culture, Sports, Culture & Social Custom of U.P, Revenue, Police & Gen. Administration System in U.P, Protection of women and children, Basics of I.T and Environmental Studies.
Other than these topics, the section will also involve topics from current affairs. These current affairs will be covered from the following topics: National & International Affairs, Important Personalities, Awards, Appointments, Important Places, Committees & Commissions, Disputes & Major Settlements, Judicial Decisions, Books & Authors, Abbreviations and Miscellaneous.
2. Numerical Ability - It is a section to evaluate the numerical ability of a candidate. The topics included will be Arithmetic, Ration Proportion, LCM & HCF, Percentages, Boat & Stream, Speed, time, and distance, Partnership, CI & SI, Pipes & Cistern, Problem on Ages, Time & Work, Average, Profit loss & Discount and Mensuration.
3. Reasoning Ability: This section will include questions from two sections: General Mental Ability and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
General Mental Ability: Topics under this section are- Alphabet Test, Arithmetic Reasoning, Analogy, Distance direction test, Classification, Coding-decoding, Blood Relation, Missing Number, Logical Venn diagram, and Matrix.
Non-Verbal Reasoning: Topics included in this section are- Cube & Dice, Embedded figures, Figure formation & Analysis, Paper cutting & folding, Series, Mirror Image, Water Image, Pattern Completion and Counting of figures.
4. General Hindi: Topics included are:
गद्यांश, पद्यांश, कारक, उपसर्ग और प्रत्यय, वाक्य सुधार, पर्यायवाची/विलोम शब्द, वर्तनी की त्रुटि, रिक्त स्थान, मुहावरे और लोकोक्तियाँ, अनेक शब्दो के लिए एक शब्द , संधि, वाक्यों में त्रुटिया , समास,स्त्रीलिंग,पुल्लिंग।
