Assam Govt, Ola Sign MoU For River Taxi Service In Guwahati
- The Assam government and cab aggregator Ola entered into a memorandum of understanding to pilot an app-based river taxi service in Guwahati.
- The river taxis will be a machine-operated boats, which is touted to be faster and safer than conventional ones.
- Ola will pilot the high-speed taxis on Lachit Ghat and Machkhowa in Guwahati to North Guwahati across the river, bringing the commute time down by two to five minutes from 45 minutes by road.
असम सरकार, ओला के बीच नदी नौका सेवा के लिये समझौता
- असम सरकार और टैक्सी सेवा उपलब्ध कराने वाली संग्राहक ओला के बीच आज एक सहमति ज्ञापन समझौता किया गया। इसके तहत ओला गुवाहाटी में एप आधारित नदी टैक्सी सेवा की शुरुआत करेगी।
- नदी टैक्सी सेवा एक मशीन से चलने वाली नाव के जरिये चलाई जायेगी। यह नाव माना जा रहा है कि परंपरागत नावों की तुलना में अधिक तेज चलेगी और सुरक्षित भी होगी।
- ओला एप के तहत तेज गति की नौकायें गुवाहाटी के लचित घाट और मचखोवा से उत्तरी गुवाहाटी के लिये चलाई जायेंगी। इससे इस नदी के पार पहुंचने का समय पांच मिनट तक कम होगा। सड़क मार्ग से इसमें करीब 45 मिनट का समय लगता है।
