ICC Appoints Indra Nooyi as First Ever Independent Female Director
- The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi to the ICC Board. With this, she has become the organization’s first independent female director.
- Nooyi will join the Board in June 2018.
- She has been appointed for a term of two years although she may be re-appointed for two further terms with a maximum six-year consecutive period of service.

- An eight-year-old Indian-origin schoolgirl, Sohini Roy Chowdhury has entered the UK's 'Mathletics Hall of Fame'. It is an online mathematics-based competitive tool aimed at primary school pupils.
- Sohini Roy Chowdhury competed with pupils from across Britain and other countries to also make it into the top 100 World Hall of Fame after solving mathematical puzzles with speed and accuracy.

- सोहिनी रॉय चौधरी ने ब्रिटेन और दूसरे देशों के छात्रों से प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हुए तेजी एवं पूरी सटीकता के साथ गणित की पहेलियां सुलझाने के बाद शीर्ष 100 वर्ल्ड हॉल ऑफ फेम में भी जगह बनायी।
Competition Commission has Imposed Rs 136 cr fine on Google.
- The fine has been imposed for unfair business practices in the Indian market for online search.
- After a detailed probe on the complaints filed in 2012, the regulator through a majority order said the penalty is being imposed on Google for "infringing anti-trust conduct".
- Globally, this is one of the rare cases where Google has been penalised for unfair business ways.
- The penalty amount of Rs 135.86 crore translates to 5 percent of the company's average total revenue generated from India operations from its different business segments for the financial years 2013, 2014 and 2015, according to the CCI order.
- The ruling has come on complaints filed by Matrimony.com and Consumer Unity & Trust Society (CUTS)back in 2012 against Google LLC, Google India Pvt Ltd and Google Ireland Ltd.

- 2012 में दर्ज की गई शिकायतों की विस्तृत जांच के बाद, बहुमत के माध्यम से नियामक ने कहा कि Google पर "विश्वास-विरोधी आचरण का उल्लंघन" करने के लिए जुर्माना लगाया जा रहा है।
- विश्व स्तर पर, यह दुर्लभ मामलों में से एक है जहां Google को अनुचित व्यावसायिक तरीके से दंडित किया गया है।
- सीसीआई के आदेश के मुताबिक, 135.86 करोड़ रुपये की जुर्माना राशि वित्तीय वर्ष 2013, 2014 और 2015 के लिए अपने विभिन्न कारोबारी खंडों से कंपनी के औसत कुल राजस्व का 5 फीसदी हिस्सा है।
- 2012 में गूगल एलएलसी, गूगल इंडिया प्राइवेट लिमिटेड और गूगल आयरलैंड लिमिटेड के खिलाफ मट्रिनी डॉट कॉम और कंज्यूमर यूनिटी एंड ट्रस्ट सोसाइटी (सीयूटीएस) द्वारा दायर शिकायतों पर यह फैसला आया है।
