- State Bank of India (SBI) is India’s biggest lender by assets.
- SBI has reported a net loss of Rs2,416 crore for the fiscal third quarter.
- It had reported a net profit of Rs1,582 crore in the September quarter.
- This was the lender’s first quarter under the chairmanship of Rajnish Kumar, who took over in October.
- The bank kept aside Rs3,400 crore as a mark-to-market provision on account of rising bond yields.
- It also made a Rs700 crore provision for the next round of employee wage hikes.
- The previous wage revision agreement for employees of state-owned banks expired on 31 October.

- बांड की लाभ में बढ़ोतरी के कारण बैंक ने मार्क-टू-मार्केट प्रावधान के रूप में 3,400 करोड़ रुपये को एक तरफ रखा था।
- इसके साथ ही कर्मचारियों के वेतन के अगले दौर के लिए 700 करोड़ रुपये का प्रावधान भी किया।
- राज्य के स्वामित्व वाली बैंकों के कर्मचारियों के लिए पिछले वेतन संशोधन समझौते 31 अक्टूबर को समाप्त हो गए।

- Ustad Jamin Hussain was 74 years old.

- Now,as the successor of Ustad Bismillah Khan's Shehnai tradition, only his grandson Afaq Haider has survived.

नहीं रहे भारत रत्न उस्ताद बिस्मिल्ला खां के बेटे उस्ताद जामिन हुसैन खां
- अपनी शहनाई से देश दुनिया में लोगों को दीवाना बना देने वाले भारत रत्न उस्ताद बिस्मिल्ला खां के तीसरे बेटे उस्ताद जामिन हुसैन खां का निधन हो गया.
- उस्ताद जामिन हुसैन 74 साल के थे.
- उनका निधन ना सिर्फ परिवार वालों बल्कि शहनाई के चाहने वालों के लिए भी ऐसा नुकसान है जिसकी भरपाई अब कभी नहीं हो पाएगी.
- अब उस्ताद बिस्मिल्लाह खां की शहनाई की परंपरा को आगे बढाने वालों में सिर्फ उनके पोते आफाक हैदर ही बचे हैं.
- उस्ताद जामिन हुसैन ने भी अपनी शहनाई से खूब सुर्खियां बटोरीं थी.
- प्रशंसक उनकी शहनाई की धुन के मुरीद रहे हैं, यही वजह है कि उनके निधन से संगीत प्रेमियों में शोक की लहर है.
(World's Largest Deworming Programme)
- India is observing National Deworming Day today. It is the world’s largest deworming programme covering 340 million children under-19 years of age across 36 states/ UTs. The deworming programme is India’s commitment to a comprehensive national response to the public health threat posed by worms.
- India carries the highest burden of worm infestation and 64 per cent of Indian population less than 14 years of age are at risk of Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) or worms’ infestation (WHO). Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) interfere with nutrients uptake in children; can lead to anaemia, malnourishment and impaired mental and physical development. The situation of undernutrition and anaemia which is linked to STH ranges from 40 per cent to 70 per cent in different population groups across the country (WHO). They also pose a serious threat to children’s education and productivity later in life.

- भारत में कीड़ा संक्रमण का सबसे अधिक बोझ है और 14 प्रतिशत से कम उम्र की भारतीय आबादी का 64 प्रतिशत मृदा संचरित हेलमन्थ्स (एसटीएच) या कीड़े के संक्रमण (डब्ल्यूएचओ) के खतरे में है। मिट्टी प्रसारित हेल्मिनथ (एसटीएच) बच्चों में पोषक तत्वों की गति में हस्तक्षेप करती है; एनीमिया, कुपोषण और बिगड़ा मानसिक और शारीरिक विकास का कारन बन सकता हैं। देश में विभिन्न आबादी समूहों (डब्ल्यूएचओ) में पोषण और एनीमिया की स्थिति 40 से लेकर 70 प्रतिशत तक एसएचएच से जुड़ी है। वे जीवन में बच्चों की शिक्षा और उत्पादकता के लिए गंभीर खतरा पैदा करते हैं।
- Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, Antony Dominic, was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Kerala.
- Kerala Governor P. Sadasivam administered the Oath of Office in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Raj Bhavan.
- Justice Dominic was made an additional judge in the Kerala High Court in January 2007. He was made a permanent judge here in January 2008.
- He was made the Acting Chief Justice on 6 November last year.
- न्यायमूर्ति एंटनी डोमिनिक ने केरल उच्च न्यायालय के प्रधान न्यायाधीश के रूप में शपथ ली।
- केरल के राज्यपाल पी सदाशिवम ने राज भवन में आयोजित समारोह में डोमिनिक को केरल उच्च न्यायालय के प्रधान न्यायाधीश के रूप में शपथ दिलाई।
- न्यायमूर्ति डोमिनिक को केरल उच्च न्यायालय में जनवरी, 2007 में अतिरिक्त न्यायाधीश बनाया गया था। उन्हें जनवरी, 2008 में यहां स्थायी न्यायाधीश बना दिया गया था।
- पिछले साल छह नवंबर को उन्हें पदोन्नति देते हुए कार्यवाहक मुख्य न्यायाधीश बनाया गया।
