- Exports grew by 4.5 percent in February, to $25.8 billion as shipments of engineering, textiles and gems and jewellery declined while trade deficit narrowed to a five-month low of $12 billion. The trade deficit — the difference between imports and exports — stood at $9.52 billion in February 2017, as per the data released by the Commerce Ministry. Exports growth rate has been steadily declining since November 2017 when it touched a high of 30.5 percent.
- The country's merchandise exports are showing continuous positive growth, Commerce Secretary Rita Teaotia told reporters on Thursday. Imports too rose by 10.4 percent to $37.8 billion during the last month. Cumulative value of exports for April-February 2017-18 period grew by 11 percent to $273.7 billion, while imports grew by 21 percent to $416.87 billion. The trade deficit was $143.13 billion.
- Oil imports during February rose by 32 percent to $10.19 billion, while non-oil import increased by 4.11 percent to $27.61 billion. Oil imports during April-February 2017-18 were valued at $98 billion which was 26.92 per cent higher than $77.21 billion in the corresponding period last year.

- फरवरी में निर्यात 4.5 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 25.8 अरब डॉलर हो गया, इंजीनियरिंग, टेक्सटाइल, और रत्न और आभूषणों की बिक्री में गिरावट आई है, जबकि व्यापार घाटा 12 अरब डॉलर के पांच महीने के निचले स्तर पर है। वाणिज्य मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, व्यापार घाटा - आयात और निर्यात के बीच अंतर फरवरी 2017 में 9.52 अरब डॉलर रहा था। नवंबर 2017 से निर्यात की वृद्धि दर लगातार घट रही है, जब यह 30.5 प्रतिशत की ऊँचाई पर पहुंच गई है।
- वाणिज्य सचिव रीता टेयोतिया ने गुरुवार को संवाददाताओं से कहा कि देश के मर्चेंडाइज का निर्यात लगातार सकारात्मक वृद्धि दिखा रहा है। पिछले महीने के दौरान आयात भी 10.4 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 37.8 अरब डॉलर हो गया। अप्रैल-फरवरी 2017-18 की अवधि के लिए निर्यात का संचयी मूल्य 11 प्रतिशत बढ़कर $ 273.7 अरब हो गया, जबकि आयात 21 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 416.87 अरब हो गया। व्यापार घाटा 143.13 अरब डॉलर था।
- फरवरी के दौरान तेल आयात 32 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 10.19 अरब डॉलर रहा, जबकि गैर-तेल आयात 4.11 फीसदी बढ़कर 27.61 अरब डॉलर रहा। अप्रैल-फरवरी 2017-18 के दौरान तेल का आयात 98 अरब डॉलर मूल्य था, जो पिछले वर्ष की इसी अवधि में 77.21 अरब डॉलर से 26.92 फीसदी अधिक था।
- कमोडिटी समूह पिछले साल के इसी माह के मुकाबले फरवरी 18 में सकारात्मक वृद्धि दिखाते हैं: पेट्रोलियम उत्पाद (27.44%), कार्बनिक और अकार्बनिक रसायन (30.41%), ड्रग्स एंड फार्मास्यूटिकल्स (13.9 2%), चावल (21.29%) और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक सामान (29.71%)।
