First Meeting of Think Tank on Framework for National Policy on E-Commerce
Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, chaired the first meeting of the think tank on the Framework for National Policy on E-commerce. Senior officers of the ministries/ departments of the Government of India involved in different aspects of e-commerce; high level representatives from the industry bodies, e-commerce companies, telecommunication companies and IT companies; Reserve Bank of India; and independent experts have participated in the meeting.
The think tank on the Framework for National Policy on E-commerce has been established recently by the Department of Commerce. It will provide a credible forum for an inclusive and fact-based dialogue leading to recommendations for informed policy making, so that the country is adequately prepared to take advantage of the opportunities, and meet the challenges, that would arise from the next wave of advancements in digital economy.
ई-कॉमर्स पर राष्ट्रीय नीति के लिए ढांचे पर थिंक टैंक की पहली बैठक
वाणिज्य और उद्योग तथा नागर विमानन मंत्री सुरेश प्रभु ने ई-कामर्स पर राष्ट्रीय नीति के लिए ढांचे पर थिंक टैंक की पहली बैठक की अध्यक्षता की है। बैठक में ई-कामर्स के विभिन्न पहलुओं में शामिल भारत सरकार के मंत्रालयों/ विभागों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों, उद्योग संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों, ई-कामर्स कंपनियों, दूर संचार तथा आईटी कंपनियों, भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक और स्वतंत्र विशेषज्ञ सम्मलित थे।
थिंक टैंक की स्थापना हाल ही में वाणिज्य विभाग द्वारा की गई थी। थिंक टैंक समावेशी और तथ्य आधारित संवाद के लिए मान्य मंच प्रदान करेगा जिसके परिणामस्वरूप नीति निर्माण के लिए सिफारिशें की जा सकेंगी ताकि देश अवसरों का लाभ उठाने और चुनौतियों से निपटने के लिए पूरी तरह से तैयार रहे ऐसे अवसर और ऐसी चुनौतियां डिजिटल अर्थव्यवस्था में अगली प्रगति से उत्पन्न होंगी।
India has won 8th South Asian Judo Championship
Indian women won the championship by beating host Nepal by 5-0 in the final of team events. Indian men also won the team championship. They defeated Pakistan by 3-2 in the final.
Indian women grabbed all 7 gold medals in the individual category while men bagged 3 gold and 3 bronze medals.
India topped the medal tally winning 10 Gold and 3 Bronze medals in the individual category. Host Nepal remained second and Pakistan got third place.
भारत ने 8वीं दक्षिण एशियाई जूडो चैंपियनशिप जीती
भारतीय महिला टीम ने मेजबान नेपाल को 5-0 से हरा कर टीम चैंपियनशिप जीत ली है। वहीं पुरूष वर्ग में भी भारतीय खिलाडियों ने पाकिस्तान को 3-2 से हराकर जीत दर्ज की है|
भारतीय महिला टीम ने व्यक्तिगत श्रेणी में सभी 7 स्वर्ण पदक जीते जबकि पुरुष टीम ने 3 स्वर्ण और 3 कांस्य पदक जीते। भारत पहले स्थान पर रहा है और कुल मिला कर व्यक्तिगत श्रेणी में 10 स्वर्ण और 3 कांस्य पदक जीते हैं। मेजबान नेपाल दूसरे स्थान पर रहा और पाकिस्तान तीसरे स्थान पर रहा है।
UNESCO awarded World Press Freedom prize Abu Zeid
The United Nations’ cultural agency awarded the World Press Freedom Prize to an imprisoned Egyptian photographer.
An independent jury panel for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization gave the honor to Mahmoud Abu Zeid, a photojournalist known as Shawkan.

संयुक्त राष्ट्र के शैक्षणिक, वैज्ञानिक और सांस्कृतिक संगठन के लिए एक स्वतंत्र जूरी पैनल ने शॉकान नामक से प्रसिद्ध फोटोजर्नलिस्ट महमूद अबू जैद को यह सम्मान दिया है।
Appointment - S Jaishankar
Tata Sons appointed former Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar as Tata Group’s President, Global Corporate Affairs. He will be responsible for the Tata group’s global corporate affairs and international strategy development.
Jaishankar, who was Indian foreign secretary from January 2015 to January 2018, will work with Tata companies to help them strengthen their business presence and positioning in their respective geographies globally.

टाटा कंपनी ने देश के पूर्व विदेश सचिव एस जयशंकर को टाटा समूह का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है| वह कंपनी के लिए वैश्विक कॉरपोरेट मामले देखेंगे| नई भूमिका में जयशंकर टाटा समूह के वैश्विक कॉरपोरेट मामलों और अंतरराष्ट्रीय रणनीति विकास का कार्यभार संभालेंगे|
जयशंकर, जनवरी 2015 से जनवरी 2018 तक भारतीय विदेश सचिव थे| यह टाटा समूह के साथ काम करेंगे जिससे वह वैश्विक स्तर पर अपने संबंधित भौगोलिक क्षेत्रों की व्यावसायिक उपस्थिति को और मजबूत कर सकें।
