India has won 8th South Asian Judo Championship
Indian women won the championship by beating host Nepal by 5-0 in the final of team events. Indian men also won the team championship. They defeated Pakistan by 3-2 in the final.
Indian women grabbed all 7 gold medals in the individual category while men bagged 3 gold and 3 bronze medals.
India topped the medal tally winning 10 Gold and 3 Bronze medals in the individual category. Host Nepal remained second and Pakistan got third place.

भारतीय महिला टीम ने मेजबान नेपाल को 5-0 से हरा कर टीम चैंपियनशिप जीत ली है। वहीं पुरूष वर्ग में भी भारतीय खिलाडियों ने पाकिस्तान को 3-2 से हराकर जीत दर्ज की है|
भारतीय महिला टीम ने व्यक्तिगत श्रेणी में सभी 7 स्वर्ण पदक जीते जबकि पुरुष टीम ने 3 स्वर्ण और 3 कांस्य पदक जीते। भारत पहले स्थान पर रहा है और कुल मिला कर व्यक्तिगत श्रेणी में 10 स्वर्ण और 3 कांस्य पदक जीते हैं। मेजबान नेपाल दूसरे स्थान पर रहा और पाकिस्तान तीसरे स्थान पर रहा है।
UNESCO awarded World Press Freedom prize to Abu Zeid
The United Nations’ cultural agency awarded the World Press Freedom Prize to an imprisoned Egyptian photographer.
An independent jury panel for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization gave the honor to Mahmoud Abu Zeid, a photojournalist known as Shawkan.

Appointment - S Jaishankar
Tata Sons appointed former Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar as Tata Group’s President, Global Corporate Affairs. He will be responsible for the Tata group’s global corporate affairs and international strategy development.
Jaishankar, who was Indian foreign secretary from January 2015 to January 2018, will work with Tata companies to help them strengthen their business presence and positioning in their respective geographies globally.

टाटा कंपनी ने देश के पूर्व विदेश सचिव एस जयशंकर को टाटा समूह का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है| वह कंपनी के लिए वैश्विक कॉरपोरेट मामले देखेंगे| नई भूमिका में जयशंकर टाटा समूह के वैश्विक कॉरपोरेट मामलों और अंतरराष्ट्रीय रणनीति विकास का कार्यभार संभालेंगे|
