Obituary - Balantrapu Rajanikantha Rao
Noted Telugu poet-composer, musicologist and artist Balantrapu Rajanikantha Rao died in Vijayawada today due to old age. He was 98.
Rao, who worked for decades in All India Radio (AIR) and headed its Vijayawada division as director, is credited with composing the signature tune of 'Akashavani.' He wrote and composed the first Telugu song ever broadcast in independent India on the midnight of 15 August, 1947.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has unveiled a new anti-corruption policy for all its member states. The new guidelines will systematically address corruption and its impact on economic growth in the countries. The stricter new policy also aims to tackle how rich countries contribute to corruption in the developing world by failing to prevent bribery and money laundering or by allowing anonymous corporate ownership.Under the new guidelines, IMF will discuss good governance concerns in all annual economic reviews of member countries.

अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्राकोष-आईएमएफ ने सदस्य देशों के लिए भ्रष्टाचार रोधी नई नीति घोषित की है। नए दिशा-निर्देश भ्रष्टाचार के मुद्दे और सदस्य देशों की आर्थिक वृद्धि पर इसके असर से प्रणालीबद्ध ढंग से निपटेंगे। सख्त नई नीति का उद्देश्य अमीर देशों द्वारा रिश्वत और धन शोधन पर अंकुश लगाने में नाकाम रहने और भ्रष्टाचार को बढ़ावा देने की समस्या से भी निपटना है। नए दिशा-निर्देशों के तहत अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्राकोष सदस्य देशों की वार्षिक आर्थिक समीक्षा में कुशल प्रशासन से संबंधित चिंताओं पर विचार-विमर्श करेगा।
