माना अंकित मूल्य 100 रु. है । 

SP with 10%, 20% discount = 80% of (90% of 100) = Rs.72

10%, 20% की छूट के साथ विक्रय मूल्य = (100 का 90%) का 80% = रु.72

Profit/लाभ = 20% 

So/अतः, CP/क्रय मूल्य = 72 ÷ 1.20 = Rs./रु.60 

by offering a flat discount of 30%, sales price = 70% of 100 = 70 

30% की छूट देने के बाद, विक्रय मूल्य = 100 का 70% = 70

Profit/लाभ = = 16.67%


Q5. (1) Let P be the principal/माना P मूलधन है ।

160% of P amount means (1.6 - 1) P = 0.6 P is the simple interest in 5 years. 

P के 160% धनराशि का तात्पर्य है (1.6 - 1) P = 0.6 P 5 वर्ष में साधारण ब्याज होगा ।

So/अतः, 0.6P =

or/या R = 12% 
Now we have to find time ‘n’ such that/अब हमें समय ‘n’ ज्ञात करना है कि: 
P (1 + 0.12)n = 2P 
or/या 1.12n = 2
Also/अब, 1 .127 = 2.21
So, the correct answer is 7/अतः, सही उत्तर 7 है ।

Q6. (3) Let the time taken by P when he was overtaken by Q and R be T hours. 

माना P द्वारा लिया गया समय जब Q और R द्वारा पीछे किया जाता है, T घंटे है । 

Time taken by Q/ Q द्वारा लिया गया समय = (T – 2) hours/घंटे 

Since, distance travelled is same by the time Q overtakes P 

30(T)= 40(T-2) 

T = 8 hours/घंटे

Distance travelled by P/P द्वारा तय की गयी दूरी = 30×8 = 240 km/किमी. 

R takes 4 hours to cover a distance of 240 km/ R 240 किमी. की दूरी को तय करने में 4 घंटे लेता है। 

So/अतः, he starts/वह प्रारम्भ करता है 8 - 4 = 4 hours after P/P के चार घंटे बाद

Q7. (3) Let the age of Ramesh be x, brother be y/माना रमेश की आयु x है और भाई की आयु y है। 
x = 3y 
and/और (x + 9) =1.5(y + 9) 

3y + 9 = 1.5y + 13.5 

1.5y = 4.5 

or y = 3 years/वर्ष 

x = 9 years/वर्ष 

Father current age/पिता की वर्तमान आयु = 4x

(Since father is 3 times older than Ramesh, his age is x + 3x, and not 3x/चूँकि पिता की आयु रमेश की आयु से 3 गुना अधिक है, उनकी आयु x + 3x, है न कि 3x)

Father's age when Ramesh is 1.5 times the age of his brother/पिता की आयु जब रमेश की आयु उसके भाई की आयु का 1.5 गुना है = 4x + 9 = 45.

Q8. (1)I. 2x2 – 9x + 10 = 0
           2x2 – 5x – 4x + 10 = 0
          2x (x – 2.5) – 4 (x – 2.5) = 0
          x = 2.5, 2

      II. y2 – 18y + 72 = 0
           y2 – 12y – 6y + 72 = 0
           y (y – 12) – 6 (y – 12) = 0
           y = 12, 6

           Hence/अतः, x < y

Q9. (5)I. x (35 – x) = 124
           x2 – 35x + 124 = 0
           x2 – 31x – 4x + 124 = 0
           x(x – 31) – 4(x – 31) = 0
           x = 31, 4

       II. y (2y + 3) = 90
           2y2 + 3y – 90 = 0
           2y2 + 15y – 12y – 90 = 0
           2y(y + 7.5) – 12(y + 7.5) = 0
           y = – 7.5, 6


Hence relationship cannot be established/सम्बन्ध स्थापित नहीं किया जा सकता है ।

Q10. (1) x = 7, -3
y = 12, 13
Hence/अतः, x < y
