Q-(10) In each of the following questions, two equations are given. You have to solve them and give answer.

निम्नलिखित प्रश्नों में दो समीकरण (I) और (II) दिये गये है दोनों समीकरण हल कीजिए और उत्तर दीजिए-
I. p2 + 16p + 63 = 0
II. q2 + 13q + 42 = 0
1. If p > q
2. If p > q
3. If p < q
4. If p < q
5. If p = q or relationship can not be established

Answer Key-
Q1-3

Q2-1

× 2 + 35, × 2 + 35, × 2 + 35, × 2 + 35, × 2 + 35

Q3-2

× 0.5 + 7, × 1 + 6, × 1.5 + 5, × 2 + 4, × 2.5 + 3

Q4-4

Let the breadth of floor be b m.
Then, length of the floor be (b + 25)
Area = (b + 25) × b
According to the question,
(b + 15) (b + 8) = (b + 25) × b
b2 + 8b + 15b + 120 = b2 + 25b
2b = 120
b = 60 m.
l = b + 25 = 60 + 25 = 85 m.
Area of the floor = 85 × 60 = 5100 m.2

माना फर्श की चौड़ाई b मी. है |
तो, फर्श की लम्बाई (b + 25) होगी |
क्षेत्रफल = (b + 25) × b
प्रश्नानुसार,
(b + 15) (b + 8) = (b + 25) × b
b2 + 8b + 15b + 120 = b2 + 25b
2b = 120
b = 60 मी.
l = b + 25 = 60 + 25 = 85 मी.
फर्श का क्षेत्रफल = 85 × 60 = 5100 मी.2

Q5-3

We know that,
s2 = 72 kmph

Q6-4

Required ways = 4C2× 3C2× 2C1  = 36

Q7-5
x + y + z = 1800    ------(I)
z = (x + y) × 20/100
x + y = 5z           ------(II)
Statement (I) and (II)
6z = 1800
z = 300
x : y = 3 : 2
x + y = 1500
x = 900
y = 600
Difference = 900 - 600 = 300

Q8-5

5780 + 800 = ?
? = 6580

Q9-1

I.
15 + 8p = 5p
15 = – 3p
p = – 5
II.

q = - 6
Hence, p > q

Q10-4
I. p2 +16p + 63 = 0
p2 + 9p + 7p + 63 = 0
p(p + 9) + 7(p + 9) = 0
 (p + 9)(p + 7) = 0
p = –9, p = –7
II. q2 +13q + 42 = 0
q2 + 7q + 6q + 42 = 0
q(q + 7) + 6(q + 7) = 0
(q + 7)(q + 6) = 0
q = –7, q = –6
Hence, q > p
