Q. (7). The population of a city was 8000.In a year the population of male and female increases by 10% and 8% respectively .The total population increases by 9%.What is the present population of male in the city?

किसी शहर की जनसंख्या 8000 थी। एक वर्ष में पुरूषों की जनसंख्या में 10% तथा स्त्रियों की जनसंख्या में 8% वृद्धि हुई। पूरी जनसंख्या में 9 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि हुई। उस शहर में पुरूषों की वर्तमान जनसंख्या क्या है ?

Q. (8). In a mixture of milk & water the ratio of milk & water is 5: 7. If 12 liter mixture is drawn and 42 litres of water is added to it then the ratio becomes 3: 7. What is the difference between amount of water and milk in initial mixture?

Q. (9). Naimish invested a certain amount at the rate of 9 p.c.p.a. for 5 years and obtained simple interest of Rs.4275. If the same amount is invested at the same rate of interest for 2 years, what will be compound interest at the end of 2 years?

नैमिष ने 9 प्र.श.प्र.व. की दर से 5 वर्ष के लिए एक राशि का निवेश किया और 4275 रू. साधारण ब्याज पाया । यही राशि इसी ब्याज दर पर 2 वर्ष के लिए निवेशित की होती तो उसे 2 वर्ष के अंत में कितना चक्रवृद्धि ब्याज मिलता ?

Q. (10). In a building there are three gate. A man has to give one third of what he have and Rs.1000 more at first two gates and one fifth with 4000 at the third gate. If now he have nothing left with him, find the amount he brought with himself in the start?

एक बिल्डिंग में तीन दरवाज़े है | एक व्यक्ति को अपने पास रखी हुई धनराशि का एक तिहाई हिस्सा और 1000 रू देना होता है पहले दो दरवाज़े पर और तीसरे दरवाज़े पर उससे एक पंचमस और 4000 रू देने होते है , यदि अब उसके पास कुछ भी शेष नहीं बचता हो तो उसके पास कुल कितनी धनराशी प्रारंभ में थी ?

                  2x2 – 4x – 3x + 6 = 0
                 (x – 2) (2x – 3) = 0
                  x = 2 or/या x = 3/2
            (II) 4y2 = 9
               y = 3/2, or/या

Q5. (3) (I) 4x2 – 4x – 3 = 0
            4x2 – 6x + 2x – 3 = 0
            (2x – 3) (2x + 1) = 0
            x = 3/2 or/या x = – 1/2
       (II) 4y2 + 12y + 5 = 0
             4y2 + 10y + 2y + 5 = 0
             (2y + 1) (2y + 5) = 0
             y = – 1/2 or/या y = – 5/2
             Hence/अतः, x > y

Q6. (5) Let the two digit number be 10x + y/माना द्विअंकीय संख्या 10x + y है ।
y = x + 2
y – x = 2 .... (I)
(y + x) × 4 = 10x + y – 3
4x + 4y = 10x + y – 3
6x – 3y = 3 .... (II)
From eq. (I) and (II)/ समीकरण (I) और (II) से,
x = 3, y = 5
So, number/अतः, संख्या = 35 

Q7. (2) By alligation/मिश्रण की विधि से,
Number of males/पुरुषों की संख्या = = 4000
Present male/वर्तमान पुरुष = = 4400

Q8. (1) By alligation/मिश्रण की विधि से,
18: 7 
Added water/मिलाया गया पानी = 42 litre/लीटर
Now/अब, 7 = 42
18 = 108
Initial quantity of mixture/मिश्रण में प्रारम्भिक मात्रा = 108 + 12 = 120 litre/लीटर
Required difference/अभीष्ट अन्तर =
