1. Two Indian-origin women on Forbes list of America’s richest self-made women
According to Forbes Magazine, Indian-origin technology executives Jayshree Ullal and Neerja Sethi have made it to the list of America’s 60 richest women.
Jayshree is ranked 18th in the list of 60 self-made women, having a net worth of 1.3 billion dollars while Sethi is ranked 21st with a net worth of a billion dollars.
Born in London and raised in India, Ullal, 57 has been president and CEO of Arista Networks, a computer networking firm, since 2008.
Sethi, 63, is the vice president of IT consulting and outsourcing company Syntel, a company she cofounded with her husband Bharat Desai in 1980 in their apartment in Troy, Michigan.

फोर्ब्स पत्रिका के अनुसार, भारतीय मूल की प्रौद्योगिकी कार्यकारी जयश्री उल्लाल और नीरजा सेठी ने अमेरिका की 60 धनाढ्य महिलाओं की सूची में जगह बनायी हैं।
अपने बलबूते पर पहचान बनाने वाली 60 महिलाओं की सूची में जयश्री 1.3 अरब डालर के साथ 18 वें स्थान पर जबकि नीरजा एक अरब डालर की नेटवर्थ के साथ 21 वें पायदान पर रही ।
लंदन में जन्मीं और भारत में पली - बढ़ी 57 साल की जयश्री, वर्ष 2008 से कंप्यूटर नेटवर्किंग कंपनी एरिस्ता नेटवर्क की अध्यक्ष और मुख्य कार्यपालक अधिकारी हैं।
63 साल की नीरजा आईटी परामर्श और अउटसोर्सिंग कंपनी सिनटेल की उपाध्यक्ष हैं। उन्होंने यह कंपनी अपने पति भारत देसाई के साथ मिलकर 1980 में बनायी थी।
2. India becomes 69th shareholder of European Bank for Reconstruction & Development
India has become the 69th shareholder of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, paving the way for more joint investment with Indian companies across the bank’s regions of operation.
European Bank President Suma Chakrabarti said in London yesterday that India had applied for the membership in December 2017. The Board of Governors, voted unanimously in favour of the country’s application in March 2018, with the entire membership process completed this week.
London-headquartered EBRD is a multilateral development bank set up in 1991 after the fall of the Berlin Wall. It aims to promote private and entrepreneurial initiative in emerging Europe and invests in 38 emerging economies.

भारत यूरोपीय पुनर्निर्माण और विकास बैंक का 69वां शेयरधारक बना
भारत औपचारिक रूप से यूरोपीय पुनर्निर्माण और विकास बैंक का का 69 वां शेयरधारक बन गया है।
इससे बैंक के संचालन क्षेत्र में भारतीय कंपनियों के साथ और अधिक संयुक्त निवेश का रास्ता साफ हो गया है।
बैंक की अध्यक्ष सुमा चक्रवर्ती ने लंदन में बताया कि सदस्यता से जुड़ी सारी प्रक्रिया इस सप्ताह पूरी हो गई है।
जर्मनी के एकीकरण के बाद यूरोप में निजी और उद्यमशीलता अभियान को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 1991 में इस बैंक की स्थापना की गई थी।
बैंक का मुख्यालय लंदन में है। यह बैंक 38 उभरती हुई अर्थव्यस्थाओं में निवेश करता है।

3. Bank of Baroda to partner with South Korea's KB Financial Group
Public sector lender Bank of Baroda has inked an agreement with South Korea's KB Financial Group to set-up financing corridor and development of digital payment ecosystem.
The MoU was inked on July 9 during India-Korea Business Forum.

बैंक आफ बड़ौदा, दक्षिण कोरिया के केबी फाइनेंशियल ग्रुप के बीच करार
सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंक आफ बड़ौदा तथा दक्षिण कोरिया के केबी फाइनेंशियल ग्रुप के साथ फाइनेंसिंग कॉरिडोर तथा डिजिटल भुगतान पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र विकसित करने के लिए करार किया है।
इस एमओयू पर भारत दक्षिण कोरिया व्यापार मंच के दौरान 9 जुलाई को दस्तखत किए गए थे।

4. Spiritual leader Dada Vaswani passes away
Chief of Sadhu Vaswani Mission and Spiritual leader Dada Vaswani passed away. He was 99.
Acclaimed as a humanitarian, philosopher, educator, orator and non-sectarian spiritual leader, Vaswani was also known for promoting vegetarianism and animal rights.
आध्यात्मिक गुरू दादा वासवानी का निधन
साधु वासवानी मिशन के प्रमुख एवं आध्यात्मिक गुरू दादा जे पी वासवानी का निधन हो गया। वह 99 वर्ष के थे।
मानवतावादी, दार्शनिक, शिक्षक, वक्ता और गैर-सांप्रदायिक आध्यात्मिक नेता के रूप में प्रशंसित, वासवानी को शाकाहार और पशु अधिकारों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भी जाना जाता था।
5. India, UK sign MoU on exchange of experience by legal experts
India and the United Kingdom signed an agreement on exchange of experience by legal professionals and government functionaries for resolution of disputes before various courts.
The agreement was signed by Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and UK's Secretary of State for Justice David Gauke in London during the former's visit.
The MoU sought to enhance bilateral cooperation in legal affairs which would provide a framework for promoting greater cooperation between the judicial and legal professionals in both countries through exchange of expertise and training.
The two countries would also exchange information regarding current issues of international significance. The MoU also provided for establishment of a Joint Consultative Committee to facilitate such an exchange, a statement said.
The MoU was cleared by the Union Cabinet last week.

कानूनी विशेषज्ञों द्वारा अनुभव के आदान-प्रदान पर भारत और ब्रिटेन में समझौता
भारत और ब्रिटेन ने विभिन्न न्यायालयों के समक्ष विवादों के निपटारे के मकसद से कानूनी पेशेवरों तथा सरकारी पदाधिकारियों द्वारा अनुभव के आदान - प्रदान से जुड़े एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।
कानून मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद और ब्रिटेन के न्याय राज्य मंत्री डेविड गौके ने प्रसाद की ब्रिटेन यात्रा के दौरान लंदन में इस समझौते पर दस्तखत किए।
समझौते का मकसद कानूनी मामलों में द्विपक्षीय सहयोग बढ़ाना है। इससे विशेषज्ञता एवं प्रशिक्षण के जरिए दोनों देशों में न्यायिक एवं कानूनी पेशेवरों के बीच सहयोग बढ़ाने की रूपरेखा तय हो पाएगी।
पिछले हफ्ते केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने इस समझौते को मंजूरी दी थी।

6. India Becomes Sixth Largest Economy Leaving Behind France
India has become the world's sixth-biggest economy, pushing France into seventh place, according to updated World Bank figures for 2017.
India's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to $2.597 trillion at the end of last year, against $2.582 trillion for France.
US is the world's largest economy with a GDP of $ 19,390 billion and after that China (12,230 billion dollars) is on second place.
Japan (4,870 billion dollars) and Germany (3670 USD) are at the third and fourth places, respectively.
According to the GDP, Brazil is eighth in the top 10, Italy is ninth and Canada is 10th.

भारत दुनिया की छठी सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था, फ्रांस को पीछे छोड़ा
भारत 2017 में दुनिया की छठी सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था के रूप में उभरा और फ्रांस को पीछे छोड़ दिया है। विश्वबैंक द्वारा के जुटाए गए आंकड़ों के विश्लेषण से यह बात सामने आयी है।
वर्ष 2017 में भारत का सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) 2590 अरब डालर था वहीं इसी वर्ष में फ्रांस की जीडीपी 2580 अरब डालर थी।
अमेरिका दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था है जिसका जीडीपी 19,390 अरब डालर है। उसके बाद चीन (12,230 अरब डालर) का स्थान रहा।
जापान (4870 अरब डालर) तथा जर्मनी (3670 अर डालर) के जीडीपी के साथ क्रमश : तीसरे और चौथे स्थान पर हैं।
जीडीपी के हिसाब से शीर्ष 10 में ब्राजील आठवें , इटली नौवें और कनाडा 10 वें स्थान पर हैं।

7. Veteran NRI broadcaster Mahendra Kaul dies
Eminent Indian-origin broadcaster and journalist Mahendra Kaul died. He was 95.
Born in Srinagar, Kaul began his career with Radio Kashmir and went on to make his mark as a broadcaster with the All Indian Radio.
Kaul became the first NRI to be honoured with an Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II back in 1975 for his services to race relations. Later, he also received the Duke of Edinburgh award for his work in the field.
One of Kaul's popular programmes on the BBC, 'Apna Hi Ghar Samjhiye' (Make Yourself At Home), ran for 14 years.
प्रख्यात एनआरआई ब्रॉडकास्टर महेंद्र कौल का निधन
भारतीय मूल के प्रख्यात ब्रॉडकास्टर महेंद्र कौल का निधन हो गया। वह 95 वर्ष के थे।
श्रीनगर में जन्में कौल ने अपना करियर रेडियो कश्मीर से शुरू किया था। उन्होंने ऑल इंडिया रेडियो और वाशिंगटन में वॉयस ऑफ अमेरिका में अपनी सेवा दी थी। बीबीसी पर उनका लोकप्रिय कार्यक्रम ‘ अपना ही घर समझिए ’ 14 साल तक चला था।
कौल प्रथम प्रवासी भारतीय थे , जिन्हें महारानी एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय ने 1975 में ‘ऑर्डर ऑफ द ब्रिटिश एम्पायर’ से सम्मानित किया था।
