SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a nationwide cleanliness campaign run by the government of India and initiated by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 2nd of October in 2014 on 145th birthday anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi. This campaign has been launched to fulfill the aim of cleanliness all over India. The Prime Minister has requested the people of India to involve in the Swachh Bharat Mission and promote others to do the same for leading our country as a best and clean country of the world. This campaign was first initiated by the Narendra Modi himself by cleaning the road on the way going to launch the campaign.

The campaign of Swachh Bharat is a biggest ever cleanliness drive of the India during the launch of which around 3 million government employees and students from schools and colleges participated. On the day of launch, the Prime Minister has nominated the names of nine personalities of India to initiate the campaign in their own areas and own decided dates as well as promote the campaign to common public. Subject – Regarding poor sanitary conditions

Respected Sir,

I would like to draw your kind attention towards the poor management of garbage prevalent in my area. I regret to inform you that the sanitary conditions of our locality are becoming bad to worse day by day. The concerned workers are paying no heed to it. They come here once in 15 days only. The garbage is lying on the roads for the rest of the days. The drainage system of this locality has broken down and we can see water spread on the road everywhere. This creates a major problem as it invites a lot of diseases and causes ill-health of people of this locality. Gutters are not cleaned, drainage is choked and heaps of refuse can be seen here and there. We can see many stray pigs and dogs near the garbage too. They have made it their own dominion.

There are also other issues as well. The water supply is not good. The street lights are often off at night, giving a free chance to thieves. People suffer a lot because of these inconveniences.

Therefore I request you to please look into the matter and take all necessary steps for solving these problems.

Hoping an early action.

Yours Faithfully
Navyanaveli Nanda
