1. Satya Tripathi appointed Assistant Secretary-General & Head of New York Office of UNEP
UN Secretary General António Guterres has appointed veteran Indian development economist and UN official Satya S Tripathi as Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the New York Office of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

संयुक्त राष्ट्र के महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटारेस ने जाने माने भारतीय विकास अर्थशास्त्री और संयुक्त राष्ट्र के अधिकारी सत्या एस त्रिपाठी को संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम (यूएनईपी) के न्यूयार्क कार्यालय का प्रमुख और एजेंसी का सहायक महासचिव नियुक्त किया है।
2. Indian economy likely to grow at 7.4% in FY19: NCAER
Economic policy think-tank NCAER has retained India's growth forecast for the current fiscal at 7.4 per cent citing comfortable agricultural sector outlook and a marked improvement in the external sector.
According to the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) report, in 2018–19 the real agriculture Gross Value Added (GVA) is envisaged to grow at 4.6 per cent, real industry GVA at 5.1 per cent, and real services GVA at 8.5 per cent.
आर्थिक वृद्धि दर 2018-19 में 7.4 प्रतिशत रहने का अनुमान: एनसीएईआर
आर्थिक शोध संस्थान एनसीएईआर ने चालू वित्त वर्ष के लिये देश की आर्थिक वृद्धि दर के अनुमान को 7.4 प्रतिशत पर बरकरार रखा है। संस्थान ने कृषि क्षेत्र में संतोषजनक स्तर तथा बाह्य क्षेत्र में सुधार का हवाला देते हुए आर्थिक वृद्धि दर के अनुमान को यथावत रखा है।
नेशनल काउंसिल आफ एप्लायड एकोनोमिक रिसर्च (एनसीएईआर) की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार 2018-19 में वास्तविक कृषि सकल मूल्य वर्द्धन (जीवीए) 4.6 प्रतिशत, वास्तविक उद्योग जीवीए 5.1 प्रतिशत तथा वास्तविक सेवा जीवीए 8.5 प्रतिशत रहने का अनुमान है।

Neeraj Chopra has become the first Indian Javelin-thrower to win a Gold Medal in Asian Games.

नीरज चोपड़ा एशियाई खेलों में स्वर्ण पदक जीतने वाले पहले भारतीय जैवलिन थ्रोअर (भाला फेंक खिलाड़ी) बन गए हैं।
4. Varakil wins women's long jump silver
Neena Varakil gave India another silver medal from the athletics arena after she came second in the women's long jump event at the ongoing Asian Games.
Varakil's best jump of 6.51m came in the fourth attempt, which was enough to fetch her the silver.
वराकिल ने महिला लंबी कूद में रजत पदक जीता
भारत की नीना वराकिल ने एशियाई खेलों की एथलेटिक्स प्रतियोगिता में महिलाओं की लंबी कूद में रजत पदक हासिल किया।
वराकिल की सर्वश्रष्ठ कूद 6.51 मीटर की दूरी नापी। उन्होंने चौथे प्रयास में यह दूरी तय की जो रजत पदक जीतने के लिये पर्याप्त थी।
5. Indian men’s TT team settles for historic bronze
Indian table tennis men’s team settled for a historic bronze medal after losing 0-3 to South Korea in the semifinal at the 18th Asian Games. This is India's first ever medal in table tennis in Asian Games history.
5. भारतीय पुरूष टेबल टेनिस टीम को ऐतिहासिक कांस्य पदक
भारतीय पुरूष टेबल टेनिस टीम को 18वें एशियाई खेलों के सेमीफाइनल में दक्षिण कोरिया से हारकर कांस्य पदक से संतोष करना पड़ा। यह एशियाई खेलों के इतिहास में टेबल टेनिस में भारत का पहला पदक है।
6. Sindhu gets silver, loses third major final of the year
India's badminton player, PV Sindhu won the silver medal in the 18th Asian Games. She lost to Tai Tzu-ying of Taiwan in the finals.
साल में तीसरा फाइनल हारी सिंधू को एशियाई खेलों में भी रजत
भारत की बैडमिंटन खिलाड़ी पी वी सिंधू ने 18 वें एशियाई खेलों में रजत पदक जीता। वह फाइनल में ताइवान की ताइ जू यिंग से हार गयी।
