RBI keeps the repo rate unchanged at 6.50% after two hikes in a rowRBI's six-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) in its fourth bi-monthly policy statement for FY19 kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.50% after hiking it by 25 bps two times in a row. The decision comes despite weakening rupee, surging oil prices and market instability. Repurchase (repo) rate is the rate at which RBI lends money to commercial banks.

आरबीआई ने वर्ष की चौथे मौद्रिक नीति समीक्षा में नीतिगत दरों में कोई बदलाव नहीं करने की घोषणा की है। बैंक के फैसले के बाद रेपो रेट (जिस दर पर बैंक आरबीआई से ऋण लेते हैं) 6.50% जबकि रिवर्स रेपो रेट 6.25% पर बरकरार रहेगा।
ISIS rape survivor Murad, Congo's Mukwege win Nobel Peace Prize
The 2018 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad for their efforts to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of warfare. Born in 1993 in Iraq, Murad is one of the 3,000 Yazidi victims of rape and abuses by ISIS while Congo's 63-year-old gynecologist Mukwege has repeatedly condemned impunity for mass rape.

India, Russia ink $5 bn S-400 deal
India has signed an over $5-billion deal to buy Russia's S-400 aerial-defense system during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India. India earlier approved the deal to buy five units despite the US imposing sanctions against the country after Russia invaded Crimea in 2014.

India and ADB Signs $110 Million Loan to Improve Rural Connectivity in Madhya Pradesh
Government of India and Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $110 million loan to finance the upgrade of 2,800 kilometers all-weather rural roads in the State of Madhya Pradesh under the Prime Minister's Rural Roads Program (PMGSY).
ADB is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Established in 1966, it is owned by 67 members---48 from the region. in 2017, ADB operations totalled $32.2 billion' including $11.9 billion in co-financing.

भारत सरकार और एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) ने प्रधानमंत्री ग्रामीण सड़क कार्यक्रम (पीएमजीएसवाई) के तहत मध्य प्रदेश में 2,800 किलोमीटर लम्बी बारहमासी ग्रामीण सड़कों के उन्नयन के वित्त पोषण के लिए 110 मिलियन डॉलर के ऋण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
एडीबी अत्यधिक गरीबी का उन्मूलन करने के लिए अपने प्रयासों को जारी रखते हुए एक समृद्ध, समावेशी, सुदृढ़ और टिकाऊ एशिया-प्रशांत का लक्ष्य प्राप्त करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। वर्ष 1966 में स्थापित एडीबी के 67 सदस्य देश हैं, जिनमें से 48 सदस्य देश इसी क्षेत्र से हैं। वर्ष 2017 में एडीबी के परिचालन कुल मिलाकर 32.2 अरब डॉलर के आंके गए, जिनमें सह-वित्त पोषण से जुड़ी 11.9 अरब डॉलर की राशि भी शामिल है।
